25.01.2022 When preparing an area for turf it is in your best interest to have a quality soil for the grass to grow. If your soil/clay is not suitable for growing turf we recommend removing approximately 100mm of existing soil and replacing it with a new lawn blend soil to give your grass the best conditions to grow in. We have been replacing clients soil for over 20 years so we know where to source the best soil that will not only benefit your lawn, but gardens also. Preparation for Synthetic turf also requires special consideration. A compacted and leveled crushed rock base is necessary to get the best finish.

22.01.2022 When it comes to site leveling it is important to get the levels correct. The most important reason is to make sure water doesnt run back into dwellings or sit dormant in one spot or many. When site leveling an area Direct Dingo Excavations can recommend whether drains are necessary or there is adequate fall for water to get away. We have laser levels that we use on a regular basis to avoid any water issues that may occur like rising dampness in houses which can be a major issue. If an area is to be level we will also use the laser level to get it perfect.

20.01.2022 Direct Dingo Excavations can dig post holes for deckings, retaining walls, pergolas, planting and anything else that requires a post or stump hole. Augar sizes available are: 250mm, 350mm, 450mm and 600mm. Holes can be up to 1.8m in depth.

14.01.2022 When it comes to soil removal there are a few options that need to be considered: 1. How much excess dirt there will be? 2. Room for excavated dirt to be placed?... 3. Price? As a landscaper for over 20 years I worked out the most cost effective ways of removing soil from properties. For smaller amounts of dirt we sometimes have free land fill sites which it can be taken to depending on what area the job is. The smaller loads can also be dumped at the tip for a reasonable price depending on which tip is used. Another option we use is skip bins, which we have used for many years and get good rates on whether it be a 2m3 bin or 9m3 bin. The last option that we use is for bigger quantities of dirt, for this we use a bob cat and tipper to take large amounts of soil away.

13.01.2022 Site cleaning is a major part of Direct Dingo Excavations work due to house blocks being much smaller which leads to restricted access. These types of jobs used to be carried out by a bobcats but they have become too big for these types of jobs in many cases. The Dingo can get into smaller areas with restricted access to pick up excess concrete, bricks, timber, excess dirt and anything else tradesman have left behind.

08.01.2022 Direct Dingo Excavations use a ditch witch attachment to dig narrow trenches suitable for electrical cables, pipes for water, phone lines, gas lines and concrete foundations. The trenches can be either 100mm or 200mm wide and 900mm in depth. After driving an excavator for many years I found them to be very messy. With the trencher it cuts a nice line and places soil right beside the trench that can be easily back filled with the 4 in 1 bucket leaving the job nice and tidy.

02.01.2022 Block sizes are definitely getting smaller as our population grows. This can make it tricky to get into not only back yards but areas of front yards too. Direct Dingo Excavations can access a width of 1050mm with bucket attached. However, we can change the Dingo wheels to a smaller size which then gains us access to fit through approximately 850mm gap.
