My sacrifice of an extra half an hour in bed this morning brought sweet rewards in the form of an epic sunrise which would have brought tears to the Gods. It's looking like our local emerald gem Greens Pool, situated in William Bay national Park here in Denmark, western Australia will be open again for visitors in the next few weeks! The park has been shut since February in order to carry out amenity and access upgrades - it's been lovely and quiet there for the lucky few who've ventured in tho off the Bibbulmun track this year. I consciously check in with myself several times during the day to make sure Im edging mostly towards the Mindful column - today I: Had lunch in the sunshine Did a strength workout on my verandah (more sunshine) Gave my kids a cuddle and played Uno with them before school... Hiking is the best green medicine out there Were back into our well worn bootstraps next week, as Dirty Feet Tours is providing the know-how and hiking shiz for the forthcoming womens Introduction to Hiking series which has been organised by Great Southern Centre for Outdoor Recreation Excellence. Well have a cosy chat in Cosis Cafe Albany for the first 4 sessions to get you equipped with the basics, before putting our new skills and confidence to ...use during a group hike in early July. These sessions have been scheduled to fit within school hours during the week, and you are welcome to bring small children if need be. Traditionally this was, and still is, a great time for living near to the water, and freshwater and sea foods were a very important part of the peoples diet this time of year. Getting a new website done has been epic for our little business, and we couldn't have done it without a Tourism Recovery Grant or the sterling services of Next Rung Consulting based here in Denmark, WA. So what's changed then I hear you ask?... Well.......... Still have a couple of sweet trail missions Lots of fun hiking tours now for all abilities from Walpole to Albany We are now operating a Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail track transfer service locally which is proving quite popular while the Wilson inlet bar is open to the ocean! Much more user friendly and we love our photos thanks to @jomalcolm All the COVID stuff we need to stay ahead of the game. Next step? Hook it all up to our other booking platforms and off we go! 04.01.2022 We may not be able to see dinosaurs , but a trip to the Stirling Ranges certainly feels prehistoric. Did you know that the Stirling Range National Park is an ...ancient land form, with its bedrock dating back roughly 25002900 million years? With dramatic mountainous views and wild, jagged peaks, its a truly spectacular spot to visit. Hike one of the many trails here, including the highest peak in southern Western Australia, Bluff Knoll. In this biodiversity hotspot, there are over 1500 species of plants; 87 of which are found nowhere else in the world - and spring brings a carpet of wildflowers to the landscape, making it a stunning time to #WanderOutYonder.
