23.01.2022 The Kickstart Skilled n Social crew all agree that Christmas is too much fun to only celebrate once a year! Last Saturday they dressed up in their favourite Christmas outfits and enjoyed singing carols, decorating cookies, opening presents and eating a Christmas in July feast - complete with a rainbow cake for Chloe of course!

19.01.2022 Our amazing Greenacres gardening crew have been hard at work again, this time giving our High Street Centre a garden make-over. They cleaned out weeds, designed new garden beds, mulched and planted an array of plants ready for Spring. In the process they even found some buried treasure - gorgeous painted stones with the participants' names on them!

17.01.2022 Curious about what a 'Corona-style Christmas' will look like? A group of Enterprise Social participants experienced it firsthand when they celebrated Christmas in July last Friday. Their feedback? Even with COVID-19 lurking, Christmas still means singing carols, decorating cookies, eating too much delicious food and lots of fun with friends. They also discovered a bonus with physical distancing - there is so much more room for dancing!

17.01.2022 Team Greenacres is ready to step up, improve our health and fitness and make a difference to the lives of kids and adults with cerebral palsy! Today, 31 August, is the last day to register for STEPtember - a national fundraising event where teams of four will walk, swim, ride or spin 10,000 steps per day for 28 days. Over 50 people from Greenacres have already registered, if you would like to support our team with a donation please go to www.steptember.org.au and search for Greenacres. 16.01.2022 At a special morning tea yesterday, all of Greenacres Industries came together to celebrate Keiran Jones and his incredible 47 years working for Greenacres. While Keiran will be retiring from Greenacres Industries, he will not be leaving the Greenacres family completely. He has swapped work in the ADE for fun activities at the Kemira Centre for three days a week. We thank Keiran for his hard work and dedication, and wish him a wonderful retirement.

13.01.2022 Our deserving Park Road participants were treated to a special Christmas morning tea from Woolworths Stocklands Nowra last week. Woolworths also donated $250 of groceries of their choice to make meals for the charity, Dignity. Our Park Road participants decided on meat and vegetables so they can cook Christmas roast dinners. They have already made 150 and plan to make more this week. Greenacres is so proud of our Park Road team and their commitment to helping those in need in their community!

07.01.2022 Greenacres welcomed the arrival of another level of protection against coronavirus today - two Polivac Fogger machines from Rapid Clean Illawarra. The machines will quickly and efficiently send a fine mist of Viraclean solution over surfaces thoroughly cleaning our buildings.

We give our deepest condolences to the Saxby family and to the many friends who surrounded Chloe in love, made her laugh and supported her during the difficult times. We will miss her cheeky sense of humour and her radiant smile which made everyone who saw it smile too. Chloe made our community a better place and us all better people. Rest in peace gorgeous girl - you have left a lasting legacy.

07.01.2022 Wishing all our Greenacres Enterprises employees a wonderful Christmas and holiday. It was so disappointing to have to cancel our Christmas brunch today but the food was donated to the Homeless Hub so will hopefully help those in need. Because there was no celebration today, we have included some photos from past years (when we could still hug!). Stay safe, relax, enjoy the break and we look forward to seeing everyone again when we come back on Monday, 11 January. Bring on 2021!

04.01.2022 Planes may be grounded and our borders closed but Greenacres hasn't stopped exploring the world. Last Friday, the Skilled n Social crew had an awesome Mexican fiesta in the Kickstart Centre. They dressed up, made 'Day of the Dead' masks, danced and cooked tacos of all kinds - the dessert tacos look especially delicious!

03.01.2022 Go team Rayleigh! Staff and participants from our Rayleigh Drive Centre in Worrigee have been working hard to create a collection of face masks which would make any fashion designer proud. They researched the design, made the patterns, brought in funky fabric from home and shopped for supplies before measuring, cutting, ironing and sewing the masks. Now they have several masks each, they plan to make masks for every Greenacres participant and staff member in the Shoalhaven!

02.01.2022 Greenacres was honoured to have Sleeping Beauty and her prince, Snow White, Cinderella, Woody, Jessie, Simba and even Minnie Mouse at our Skilled n Social 'Disney Day'. As befitting Disney royalty, we rolled out the red carpet, polished the golden throne, made crowns, enjoyed a feast together including Disney cupcakes and danced to a Disney playlist (socially distanced of course!). A big thank you to all our Skilled n Social team for working so hard to create a perfect day for our important guests!

Our employees and Kickstart participants in North Wollongong acknowledged the day with pancakes while our Community Life and Leisure centres baked and decorated cupcakes. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone so it is more important than ever to stay connected and look out for each other.

01.01.2022 The Park Road Pantry in Nowra is up and running! Wanting to help those who may be struggling, participants from our Park Road Centre in Nowra were looking for a pantry which they could keep stocked with non-perishable items. When they couldn’t find anything suitable, our Community Connect volunteers got out the power tools and transformed old pallets into the perfect pantry. On Tuesday, the Kickstart Party Bus took the volunteers to Nowra so they could hand over the brightly ...painted pantry in person. They were thanked for their efforts with a BBQ lunch made by the Park Road cooking class. Members of the Nowra community are encouraged to leave items in the pantry which has the sign take what you need, leave what you can. See more
