24.01.2022 This sounds like the perfect iso production. I hope we get to see it here in Oz https://www.facebook.com/462967597786669/posts/804229033660522/?extid=WwlNvPWm06y4D5jq&d=n
22.01.2022 A great opportunity to catch Defiant Lives and hear from filmmaker and Greens candidate for the local government elections in Stonnington talking with Senator Jordan Steele John. It's on tonight so be quick and book your tickets
22.01.2022 2020 has been tough for all but Liz Carr explains the particular impact on those with underlying medical conditions. A phrase meant to reassure the well while reminding disabled people just where they stand in the line for overstretched health services. Well worth reading.
21.01.2022 Rosemary Kayess is a fine activist and academic. She should not have to have this conversation about vulnerable groups and the pandemic yet here it is. Rosemary will be featured in the Defiant Lives Files in the coming months. https://www.facebook.com/13545876830/posts/10157271786826831/?vh=e&extid=EoWlyxOgiK9MvKR6
20.01.2022 Don't take our word for it .... but subscribers can catch up with all your favourite No Limits episodes on Disability Busters at any time ... It's certainly a classic
20.01.2022 Disability Busters founder Sarah Barton is very proud to be associated with this award in Stella’s name for young disabled artists. If you’re under 30 get your application in. https://www.facebook.com/572816457/posts/10158868262071458/
20.01.2022 Another series that is currently being added to our catalogue is the Defiant Lives Files. This is a series of longer interviews with elders and pioneers from the disability rights movement taken from the documentary Defiant Lives. These extended interviews allow scholars and researchers a deeper insight into the underpinning ideas behind the disability rights movement in Australia and around the world. The documentary Defiant Lives will also be available on Disability Busters in August. We have more exciting projects in planning for later this year including a collection of films from The Other film Festival, a series of comedy shorts!

19.01.2022 Throwing my hat into the centre circle! I know it's not normally done this way. Agents, labels, production companies all put forward their best artist to sing A...dvance Australia Fair for the Grand Final, but I'm pitching myself to you, the public, to help me reach my dream of belting out our Nation Anthem on that special one day in Septe ..... October! Here's my platform: - It's now officially at the GABBA, in Queensland, my home state (Although I'm still a Victorian at heart, which is important!) - I'm more than qualified to sing our Anthem with nearly 30 years experience and over 300 live performances of this song, including events for 3 Prime Ministers, Olympic and Commonwealth Games ceremonies and the final of the AUS v ENG One Day International Cricket match at the MCG in front of a full house. - I'm not pushing an upcoming CD, Tour or Production, I'm just an artist wanting to help lead the singing of our National Anthem that will inspire others to sing out with pride, to inspire the players and coaches of both teams (whoever they may be) and help create that moment, on the last note just before the siren, where the hairs stand up on your neck and the crowd start to roar in anticipation of the first bounce. - Most importantly, I love Football. I'm a proud member and supporter of The Saints (long suffering), but I have also supported other clubs over the years and performed for wonderful causes like the E.J Whitten Foundation, the Robert Rose Foundation and in this special but sad time, I'd love to represent the Neil Sachse Foundation, and honour his legacy through my performance. Here are 2 links to various performances of mine singing the Australian National Anthem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2tuehNm2Y8&t=1s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk3HldxqVRQ If you would like to help my cause, please like and share my post, especially if you personally know Gil . Let me do you all proud and help make this years AFL Anthem a special one to remember! www.timmccallum.com.au St Kilda Football Club Geelong Cats Western Bulldogs Collingwood Football Club AFL Annastacia Palaszczuk MP TODAY

13.01.2022 Thrive Aid-The Art of Protest is a world-wide virtual event that will debut on December 3, 2020, The International Day of Disabled People, to celebrate the lives and contributions of disabled people through disability art and culture. Thrive Aid is being shown independently in different time zones globally starting in Australia. This is an international collaboration between the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Australia. This is the first event of what we hope ...to be a continuing format in the future. 13.01.2022 Dreams do come true. If you log onto Disability Busters and watch some of the early episodes of no Limits you’ll see Tim McCallum in the pretty early years after acquiring his disability. I’ll be watching him sing the National Anthem at the AFL grand final feeling a little tingle about the small role No Limits played in his journey https://www.afl.com.au//classical-singer-from-the-voice-to
12.01.2022 Elizabeth Callinan has made this wonderful podcast about Non Invasive Pre-natal Screening (NIPS) ... the tests pregnant women have to screen for Down Syndrome and other chromosomal variations. She's particularly interested in the ethics of screening when it might be assumed that a termination will be requested if a foetus tests positive for Down Syndrome. The podcast features interviews with a number of women and goes deeply into the topic with sensitivity and care. If you're interested in an ethical discussion about the implications of widespread screening for disability you'll find this podcast fascinating. https://onescreenedeveryminute.com/

10.01.2022 If you're looking for something interesting to listen to I came across this fascinating Radiolab episode today as it was broadcast on ABC. It explores the origins of IQ tests and the problems for people who take the test if they are not white. There's a connection to disability too and a discussion of how eugenics were connected to IQ tests... just fascinating historical stuff. https://www.wnycstudios.org//articl/g-miseducation-larry-p
10.01.2022 We love horses here at Disability Busters and know how important they can be in both mental and physical well-being. We commend the work of RDA and have made a documentary with them called More than Horseplay which can be viewed on DB: www.disabilitybusters.com/catalogue/morethanhorseplay
09.01.2022 You might not realise this, but masks have made it especially hard for the Deaf community to read people during COVID. Expression Australia have kindly given us some basic Auslan signs we all should learn
07.01.2022 I wish we could see Crip Tales in Australia especially on Disability Busters but we can’t although this wonderful review brings them to life and is well worth the read. We do have plenty of the wonderful Liz Carr however in the Defiant Lives Files and also check her out in episode 1 of series 14 of no Limits. https://disabilityarts.online//bbc-4s-series-of-monologu/
