25.01.2022 I had a wonderful opportunity to spend time in Alice Springs with a client recently. Having lived there previously, many years ago, it was a special journey for both of us. The photos don’t do Alice Springs justice. @ Alice Springs, Northern Territory

25.01.2022 Admirals Arch, Kangaroo Island. What an incredible location! A definite must visit.

25.01.2022 Just got back from an amazing respite to Kangaroo Island. Absolutely stunning scenery, and then devastating destruction from the January bushfires. Please visit and support the local economy.

24.01.2022 A recent trip to Cleland Wildlife Park with a client. We had such a lovely day up close with some friendly wildlife. Cleland Wildlife Park

24.01.2022 https://www.seek.com.au/job/50929014 Disability Destinations is looking, specifically, for people with extensive experience with children, and ASD. 21.01.2022 Had a wonderful day down at Victor Harbor on Wednesday. Many thanks to Islanders' Tavern for allowing us to use their space for lunch. The coffee was fantastic! Quote of the day "It was real funny! I could write a best selling novel" (Brett S.)

21.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION COVID-19 Disability Destinations will continue to operate during COVID-19 but have taken strong precautions to protect our participants and extended community. Respite and day trips will still go ahead but will be limited to trips within South Australia (Kangaroo Island included) until we are advised that our borders have been reopened and it is safe to travel interstate. We have access to plenty of sanitizer for all participants during day trip and resp...ite services. All respites and day trips will be limited to 1-2 people at a time, and as such, participants are not limited to a specific day to go on a day trip. This means there will be multiple opportunities to attend a suggested day trip. All you need to do is let us know which activity you would like to attend, and what day suits you best. Disability Destinations has also made the decision to extend our business model and include 1:1 community support work services as a result of an increased need to provide support to people with disability during these challenging times. This might include picking up groceries for participants, transporting clients to appointments, assisting them to get out of the house for a few hours, or any other assistance that may be required. Please continue to support our business during this difficult time so we can continue to offer you this wonderful service.

20.01.2022 We are urgently looking for a support worker who has experience with the elderly and has had a flu shot. Please contact us today if you, or someone you know, is keen to work. Mobile: 0420 247 277, or [email protected]

20.01.2022 Below are some photos of our courageous wheelchair-bound client, who decided she wanted to skydive. Her comment, as she was being "walked" to the airplane without her wheelchair was "I can walk! I can walk!", and for a brief few moments in time, she could also fly! So proud of Jenny for showing the world that a disability doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams, and also super proud of my DSW, (also) Jenny, who put her own fears aside to support a client in this incredible adventure. Huge thanks to Adelaide Skydiving for supporting our client to achieve her goals.

18.01.2022 One of our wonderful clients had the opportunity for a short stay at Adelaide's popular Glenelg beach for respite recently. She enjoyed the opportunity to have some time away from home, just before university starts.

17.01.2022 Visited Monarto Safari Park today with a client, which, even though it rained at times, was absolutely spectacular! Check it out!

17.01.2022 We have had a busy start to 2021! Summertown for 8 days was our first respite for the year. We included activities such as horse, duck, and joey feeding, Adelaide Zoo, archery, Tree Climb, and Lego building. It was a very busy 8 days but so worth the experience.

12.01.2022 Do you know anyone who is interested in yoga? I had an incredible session with a client who has an ABI and mobility issues, and Yoga Tree on the Coast this week. Anna was fully in tune with the client's needs and was able to guide her through a wonderful yoga session, as a beginner, with complete ease. My client was so happy with the experience, as was I. Anna is based in Victor Harbor, however, she is able to facilitate yoga sessions via zoom. Please reach out to her if you are looking for an inspirational yoga session. (Her mobile is: 0449 256 008)

06.01.2022 COVID-19 Message: As many of you are now aware, South Australia has a new outbreak of COVID-19. In order to control this outbreak as quickly as possible, South Australia is going into lockdown from midnight tonight, for 6 days. What this means for you, the participant. You can still access supports from Disability Destinations. This may be in the form of online video formats such as Zoom or Messenger; it may be through phone, text, or email. In most instances, in-home car...e can still take place although there will be restrictions on this. If you have any concerns, please contact us. Stay safe everyone.
