13.01.2022 Today we celebrate the UN International Day of People with Disabilities The theme this year is "not all disabilities are visible". We encourage you to take some time out to visit idpwd.org to learn more. Each and every one of us have a vital role to play in identifying and addressing discrimination, marginalization, exclusion and inaccessibility that many people living with disabilities face - and to move towards a future where a person is characterised by their abilities,... not their disabilities, whether these be visible or not. #dsasunshinecoast #disabledsurfersassociation #idpwd2020 #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #internationaldayofpeoplewithdisabilities2020

07.01.2022 Good news!! For those asking at the last event, we're bringing back merchandise selling at our November event! Cash or bank transfer accepted. We will keep 'incoming' and 'outgoing' cash seperated, but if you could bring exact amounts for cash that would really help!... Baseball ($10) and surf ($15) hats available. Grey and *new* blue t-shirts available ($15) Profits help to support us in running the events Please remember to respect the required social distancing space when looking / purchasing merch. We'll be there for the whole event! #dsasunshinecoast #disabledsurfersassociation

07.01.2022 Go Lily!! Lily is a returning surfer, look at her stand up on each wave! Well done Lily

06.01.2022 Registration opens 10am tomorrow (14th November) - set your alarms! 40 Participant places this event! 100 Volunteer places available!... Participant places go very fast, and volunteer places were also full at the last event - so register tomorrow at 10 to secure you place Link will go live on social media channels at 10 tomorrow. Woohoo!!! #dsasunshinecoast #disabledsurfersassociation

06.01.2022 Anyone else already excited for 28th November...?! We are! Registration opens 14th November at 10am. As the previous event went smoothly (our first one in this COVID world), and we had a great turnout of volunteers, for the upcoming event we are opening 40 places for participants and 100 places for volunteers. We will need that volunteer allocation full! ... Please remember that the spaces for the participants go especially quickly. Last time 75% of the places had been taken within 15 minutes. If you are not successful first time please refresh the page and try again. Sometimes Eventbrite may think the places are full if someone is mid-registration unless we tell you on social media that all places have gone, assume they are still available. We will keep a close eye and open the waitlist as soon as the places are full. Thank you to those of you who registered and cancelled your place if you were unable to make it. Unfortunately for our October event there were a couple of registrations that were not cancelled and were also a no show. Please remember, if you do not cancel your place and do not attend someone else has missed out as a result. We understand that things happen at the last minute sometimes, but we are likely to still be able to allocate a waitlist place if you let us know. #dsasunshinecoast #disabledsurfersassociation

04.01.2022 Behind the scenes some of our wonderful volunteers are still working away! Di and Martin have currently lost their drive to a sea of rashies to dry them out before they go off to be washed this week. Or as Di described it 'the aftermath of a Wiggles concert!...

04.01.2022 Missing us before you've even gone to sleep...? Here's a reminder of the details for our next event! TIcket link will be provided and will go live on 14th Nov at 10am... Set those alarms! ;)

02.01.2022 Whatever your age, families and supporters are welcome to the beach too! Please remember that we only have shade for the participants + carers (to maximise social distancing) so please bring your own if needed for your morning at the beach. Pictured is cute Onyx pulling faces whilst having cuddles with his Mum, Alisa ... #dsasunshinecoast #disabledsurfersassociation
