23.01.2022 Hello Scott, The reunion interest progressing well, and I anticipate 100-150 people 40yrs old and over will attend, including the Deputy Principal coming from Queensland. We will require an additional security guard (just in case) and please give the Kitchen a heads up for walk in orders. Not a sit down function.... I will need the additional security to collect a door charge and the funds will be used to pay for his services and entertainment. The change is going to charity or the bar ! 19.01.2022 UPDATE. Around 100 people have paid, and another 200+ have registered their interest, but made no commitment. Despite a lot of advertising, it is evident that there are still many people just finding out about the reunion next Saturday ?? ... I have been requested to extend the deadline for tickets sales but PLEASE DO NOT TRANSFER ANY MONEY AFTER TUESDAY in case it does not show up on the bank statement. You and I don't need problems on the night. I have double checked the booking with Rydalmere Bowling Club, the security, and some superb lighting and sound hire. So all good there. (A good Chinese restaurant will be open but not included in ticket cost) Don't give me an ulcer making me wait for you to get your act together. For 4 months I have been organising this non for profit event, and don't wish to be still doing administration on the night. Really looking forward to catching up with everyone. The room was booked till midnight, but the staff let us rock on till 1.30 !! 16.01.2022 Tomorrow will be the largest reunion of people from MGHS & MBHS in decades. If you are procrastinating, then shake it off and come anyway. You won't stand out. Attendees are coming from all over Australia. ... I feel an obligation to offer tickets at the door so please feel welcome to attend. No one should have to miss out. Meet at Cumberland Buliders / Dundas Sports & Recreation Club for drinks, a few speeches and replicate the High School disco music. PAY AT THE DOOR $20 PLEASE click your status to "Going" when you decide, it helps others decide favourably. We are expecting over 150 people. Spare change from the proceeds, will be put on the bar or given to charity. The club have agreed to free room hire but we need to pay for security (by law) and entertainment equipment. I'd love to chat with some of the former students about their memories of the school, since the wrecking ball will be knocking it down soon, it seems like such a shame that this part of the city's history will be lost without a proper goodbye.
