25.01.2022 A section of Marma Box Creek Road (Mungo Road) in Balranald Shire will be closed to all traffic from the intersection of Ivanhoe Road and Marma Box Creek Road to the Magenta Wampo Road and Marma Box Creek Road (approximately 40km) to enable bitumen and seal works to be completed. Detour signs are in place. It is critically important that traffic stays off this road during these works with any person using this road during road closures is liable for prosecution. For further updates during the road closure period, please visit Balranald Shire Council Website as follows: http://www.balranald.nsw.gov.au/road-conditions/ 16TH NOVEMBER 2020 UNTIL 26TH NOVEMBER 2020!!!

24.01.2022 At Hatfield you can experience the outback salt plains, red sandy ridges and breathtaking sunsets. The Hatfield Recreation Hall is often the place for a community get together or fundraiser. The ICPA hold an event called the Hatfield Happenings at the hall each year. Funds raised go towards a particular charity or cause. You can also see the old pub which is now abandoned on the Ivanhoe Road.

23.01.2022 Looking to keep the kids busy over the school holidays- why not "hop" into the Balranald Visitor Centre and grab a map and "Happy Hoppers" finder sheet and wander around answering the questions- then "hop" back into the centre for a small gift for the kids efforts.

09.01.2022 We are very proud here in Balranald to possess one of the Bills Troughs located in the Discovery Centre Complex in Market Street. They were watering troughs made in Australia, that were installed to provide relief for working horses in the first half of the 20th century. They were financed by a trust fund established through the will of George Bills. 700 troughs were distributed in Australia and 50 in other countries.
