23.01.2022 Vehicle searches for some of the more experienced teams last night. So good to be back at training! Even better to see the dogs and handlers giving 110%. Exciting news too folks, Beginner and Intermediate courses will be advertised soon .

19.01.2022 With no trials to prepare for weve been having fun with some other behaviours. This one is getting the boys to put their toys away. The end goal is 6 novel items retrieved into the box on one verbal cue. Solomon is almost there - the red cube was the only new item in this rep. Henry is up to 2 known items. The hardest bit has been moving to an intermittent schedule of reinforcement (not rewarding after every toy). You can still see some latency after a couple of the retriev...es where Sol is hoping for the marker. #KPCTtrainingchallenge

It is suitable for those who have completed Discover Canine's Beginners course or equivalent. Sessions will be somewhat flexible in order to meet the needs of the participating teams. Topics covered will include;... progressing from containers to room searches predicting odour movement reading your dog lead handling hide placement proofing for distractions. 12.01.2022 Searching outdoors was a new challenge for the teams this week. So good to see the dogs work through the distractions and learning that this game can be played anywhere. Sorry I didnt manage to capture Hypes enthusiastic indications.

11.01.2022 Dont forget to join the ACSW if youre interested in trialling this year. So far there is a trial happening in July and an ORT in May. Your dog must have passed the ORT to be eligible to trial. https://acsw.com.au/information-calendars-for-orts-trials/

08.01.2022 What an amazing way to finish the latest Intermediate Scent Work course! The teams excelled with container searches, interiors, exteriors and vehicles. Fantastic to see these dogs and handlers develop as a team.

07.01.2022 Stuck at home means plenty of time for training. Sol has been learning a new odour - tested out his recognition today and did a little bit of work proofing his indication.
