This freshwater creek starts inland on the island, high in the dunes, bringing water from the island's centre out into the open ocean. Each hour the creek pours 4 million litres into the surrounding saltwater, oftentimes entertaining tourists along the way. ... A short boardwalk leads you up to an open section of the creek, where you can hop in and enjoy floating, swimming, and even walking down. 08.01.2022 The S.S. Maheno is Fraser Island's resident shipwreck! Right on the 75 Mile Beach shores, you will find the rusted hull of the long beached passenger ferry from the early 1900s. It has remained on the island's shore ever since her demise and is now a popular place for visitors to take photos.
