For some people living with disability, the way the brain processes these experiences can be a source of distress as they learn to cope with the world around them. ... With your help, this year’s Christmas Appeal will help us develop a dedicated sensory space at our Supported Accommodation venues to support customers' sensory needs - a space to explore how their bodies move and to hone fine motor skills. 07.01.2022 Check out Rochelle with her new iPad and Apple pen, a gift from Rocky Bay's Wishing Tree! Rochelle spends a bit of time in hospital, and as she has a permanent tracheotomy she is non-verbal and uses Key Word Sign to communicate, therefore she needs a device with a camera to be able to video chat with friends. Rocky Bay Speech Pathologist, Megan Chin, submitted a wish for Rochelle to receive a new communication device, plus an Apple Pencil for her digital design work.... Rochelle and her family were very thankful and happy with her awesome gift, and said the iPad will be extremely helpful for Rochelle to keep in touch with friends. Her parents said: ...this will relieve long stays at the hospital. Rochelle can now do movie nights with her group (of friends) and she can also get her painting business website up and running from the hospital. We hope your iPad bring you many fun and happy times, Rochelle! Find out more about gifting a wish to the Wishing Tree https://bit.ly/2NGqjh7
