17.01.2022 Busy week making decisions about and registering business names, awarding gifts to the lucky winner Libbi Turner who has chosen her family tree researched to 4 or 5 generations by DiscoveryourAncestorsNow, and making the first official sale of Alan's Wood Things with invoice #1 going to http://thetrig.com.au/ for Brick Wall - an appropriate name for this cutting and serving board, and for the ancestor you can't find and want Discoveryour AncestorsNow to research. Contact me now for boards and trees :)

16.01.2022 Samuel Geard (1728 - 1786) linen weaver of Montacute in Somerset, England is a favourite ancestor of several of the Tasmanian Geard families. A valuable source is Samuel Geard’s will, providing links to his wife’s family and to his descendants. We know much more of his life through his eldest son John Geard, whose memoirs immigrated with descendants to South Africa. Now transcribed and digitised online by the church of which he was incumbent for 57 years, the memoirs give a personal insight into the Geard family of Montacute, Somerset and Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Here is John Geard’s first volume: Tilehouse Street Baptist Church, Hitchin n.d. Memoirs of John Geard of Hitchin, Herts. Vol 1: http://www.ths-baptist.org.uk/history/john_geard_vol1.pdf
