At the Red Square, Moscow, USSR. Thanks to youtube, we can now watch this video. Mathias Rust overcome more than 1000 km and Soviet air defense did not interfere. The largest military machine in the world was unable to stop him - he was no treat. ... Defense Minister Sergey Sokolov and Commander-in-Chief of Air Defense Forces of the country Alexander Koldunov were fired, and other 32 generals and officers were brought to justice. Mr. Rust was charged with hooliganism and illegal crossing of the state border and sentenced to 4 years in prison. 24.01.2022 When Leo Tolstoy imagined the plot of "War and Peace", he visited Borodino fields, a place of that famous of 1812 war with Napoleon. He lived in a nearby monastery for a few days, He was walking around, drawing, rereating every move of every division of both armies. He wanted to describe the war, and the Borodino battle, as it was never done before in a literature. So this is it, the Borodino field. The place where over 100 000 died in a day is now peaceful and green cou...ntryside and the worlds oldest open-air museum dedicated to a single battle. There are about 50 memorials spread across 110 sq kilometers. P.S. Did you know that "War and Peace" is actually a wrong translation? It should read "War and World". In old Russian language, "" (peace) and "ir" (world) were two different words. When lettera "i" was eliminated by Bolsheviks justs after the Revolution, Peace and World have merged into one word, "". The original wording by Tolstoy, was of course "World" as the subject he was willing to explore was the damange any war does to the World, countries and people. #tourstorussia #militaryhistory #historytours #discoveryrussia #russiatours #traveltorussia #moscowtours

23.01.2022 Happy to welcome first delayed travelers. The group was supposed to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site of Solovetsky Archipelago & Monastery back in July! The Solovetsky archipelago comprises six islands in the western part of the White Sea, covering about 300 km2 . They have been inhabited since the 5th century B.C. and important traces of a human presence from as far back as the 5th millennium B.C. can be found there. The archipelago has been the site of fervent monastic activity since the 15th century, and there are several churches dating from the 16th to the 19th century. #russiatour #tourstorussia #postcovidtravels #safetravels #russiannorth #discoveryrussia

12.01.2022 A long time ago, at the end of the XIX century, a young engineer Ivan Rymarevich met a beautiful Georgian princess from Tiflis at the ball in sunny Krasnodar, Black Sea. Her father dreamed of a completely different marriage for his daughter and forbade her to even think about the "engineer". She was taken back to Georgia. Ivan rushes to Tiflis, desperately hoping to beg an incongruous parent to allow them to marry. Halfway, he is intercepted by police and returned to Ekaterinodar (now Krasnodar). And the beauty, cut off from her beloved and the whole world by a strict paternal ban, fell into melancholy and died... So this mansion appeared in a Mauritanian style you rarely see in Russia. Two scaly domes represent two separated souls. #discoveryrussia #tourstorussia #BlackSea

04.01.2022 It is amazing to realize its been 2 years since Russia hosted the World Cup.

04.01.2022 Did you know? Russia has low covid-19 infection rate due to low population density (104 per 1 mln people, while Denmark has 107 and Germany has 111). One of the exmplanations is the compulsory tuberculosis vaccination (which remains in country since USSR times). This vaccine decreases the danger of Covid 10 times and number of critical cases up to 20 times per 100 000 of the population. No lockdowns in Russia since June in all main tourist areas. Over 20% of population... has been tested up to mid -August. Free intrastate travel since 1st June 2020. Russia has one of the highest in the world number of hospital beds available: 8.05 per 100 000 population (3rd in the world after Japan and South Korea); and one of the highest level of doctors per 100 000 population: 4,04. (Switzerland has 4.3) Vaccine is expected to be widely available as early as September 2020. No quarantine is required for international travelers upon arrival to Russia. 80 000 extra ICU beds available for Covid patients. #tourstorussia #safetravels #covidsaferussia #peaceofmind #discoveryrussia

04.01.2022 Glamping...Luxury and comfortable camping. Probably, the best option when it comes to explore Russias wilderness. It is next to impossible to build hotels in a country 2/3 of which is a permafrost. And why would you need one, if you have hot water, WC, wi fi, nice bed, great restaurant serving local Arctic specialties - and amazing views of Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights? Kola Peninsula. Aurora seasons is on! #tourstorussia #auroraborealis #viewnortherlights #northernlightstours #russiantours #discoveryrussia

02.01.2022 Follow the Peruvian Team. World Cup Russia 2018. Fabulous trip :)

02.01.2022 Regardless the travel. We tend to disagree that Russia is one of the hardest covid19-hit areas in the world. The size of the population should be counted and not the total number of cases per country but number of cases per one million people. Spain, Andorra, Luxembourg, San-Marino, Maldives, Israel, Sweden, Panama, UAE, Kuwait Peru, Chile, Dominica are performing worse than Russia. That is due to population density first of all. Vast, huge, underpopulated space and lost of remote regions with very limited connection to the outside world/viruses - thats Russia. Russias numbers (5,600 cases per 1 mln) are closest to Belgium (5,700 per million), Ireland (5.200 per million) , Iceland (5,400 per million) and Gibraltar (5.500 per million).
