19.01.2022 Meet Paula Burgess. Paula Burgess is a mum of a wonderful young boy diagnosed with ADHD who changed her career path in a way she never imagined. Paula works with parents and children affected by ADHD. She sees children with ADHD as world changers and works with them to help them to be the best people they can be. Paula believes that if we teach people how to understand and accept ADHD then it will not only open more opportunities, but it will give them permission to fly.... Paula has coached, supported and advocated for many parents of children with ADHD and worked with some wonderful children. She has given many talks to various child care centres and conferences to educate parents on what support is available and provided educators with ideas to provide a supported classroom. She has been interviewed by various media outlets spreading the word about ADHD. Paula is an ADDCA trained ADHD Coach and has been nominated for a variety of awards for her work with parents and children. Paulas passion about ADHD is evident in her talks and she establishes open and honest engagement with her audiences. She is a qualified social worker, youth worker and counsellor as well as a mentor and she works in a community centre. Her passion is our youth, connecting with them & helping them with where they are at. She is also involved in The Red Dust Healing program, which comes from an Indigenous perspective on healing.... She and her husband Dan are very lucky to have a large supportive network of family and friends as having an Autistic Transgender child certainly has its challenges. Leah works part time at Autism Qld as a teachers Aide, a role that has given her the opportunity to work with families who inspire her. Fiona is a Melbourne-based mum of one gorgeous, zany, active 8-year-old girl with autism who currently has no front teeth and enjoys gymnastics, girl guides, science experiments and making endless artistic creations out of folded paper. Fiona wrote in the original Parenting A Child On The Spectrum under her married name Fiona Amarasinghe, but has since divorced and now lives in a cosy little apartment with her daughter (who al...so spends time at Dads place). Fiona has a wildly varied work history, ranging from management consulting to belly dancing to running her own childrens party business.
