10.01.2022 Things that we dissent made into artworks that get screen printed as posters + textiles. Politics, environmental & social issues. Hand printed with waterbased, eco-friendly, vegan inks on ethically apparel in our Wollongong, NSW studio. #bethechange

08.01.2022 You may not be able to get out and protest at the moment. But you can still wear a protest tee and stand in your front window. In all seriousness though, Dissenters lives at @anchorsaweighartstudio and COVID-19 has had a massive impact on Anchors Aweigh. All studio workshops have been cancelled and with no gigs the screen printing side has dropped dramatically. If you are in a position to help out and buy a Dissenters tee it would really help keep the studio kicking throug...h this time. You can buy online and your order will be posted out in a 100% compostable mailer bag. Stay safe everyone. www.dissenters.com.au See more

03.01.2022 Hey all. Dissenters has been super quiet the past couple of months. Many of you may think this is a prime time to push political shirts and posters.... there are so many things going on right now in Australia that could make for a great angry shirt print (this image represents a lot of issues). Instead of creating art though I’ve been reading and researching a lot of things regarding the bushfires here in Australia, the sale of water, our corrupt government, our bias media, t...he links between coal and politics, bullying in intimidation tactics within the government and councils and for a bit of positivity ancient water systems around the world (they knew much more back then). Instead of spending money on buying a shirt though, maybe consider doing one of these things which may help some issues here a little bit more than a shirt will. 1) Support non-bias media. If you want good journalism we need to put some dollars towards it. I worked for Fairfax for 10years and saw the industry pretty much die due to the internet. There needs to be more investigative journalism which needs funds for it to happen. (Don’t support Murdoch please) 2) Visit one of the towns which has been affected by the fires and spend some money. 3) Shop local. Support small business and keep your dollars in Australia. Don’t use ‘self-serve checkouts’. This creates jobs, gives you staff who knows what’s what and chances are the money may come back to you. 4) Write to local MPs and let them know what you want them to think about, what you support and what you do not. 5) Find a community. It is a crazy time right now and having a support network can really help you mentally. It can be hard to get involved in activism by yourself. Having people by your side can really help. You are not alone. Anyway, Dissenters is still kicking. Designs will come out in 2020. But right now we need to kick some heart and brains in our Government.... or failing that just kick them out.
