13.01.2022 So.. like many people, I don’t like the idea of our kids having to wear masks all day. I’d rather that they were taking full, deep breaths and had fresh air on their skin. I’m sorry we have to, I truly hope it won’t be for long (believe me, I have many other fabulous sewing projects in the pipeline). In the meantime, to make the best of it: - If your child has two masks, please encourage them take the extra one and swap at lunchtime. Then wash both in the evening. - Remove th...e first mask by stretching and releasing the ear loops, then place it in a waterproof bag in the school bag. - Avoid touching the fabric during wear, not just to prevent COVID-19 spread, but to prevent spreading all the other oral and nasal bacteria that have been exhaled into the mask. - I see so many masks pulled down onto people’s chins, which must involve touching the fabric. If you must remove it temporarily (to take a deep breath!) stretch and release one ear loop. This will be contravening govt advice. I am not a medical professional, please refer to DHSS guidelines for more details on appropriate mask usage. For now, I am still making these masks. They are well fitted, with soft ear loops and professionally made with quality fabric to withstand lots of washing.
