18.01.2022 http://World Breastfeeding Week 2018// I never imagined myself tandem feeding. Not because I didn't think it was ok but because I'd never seen it before. It was not part of any parenting story I'd heard growing up. No one I knew had done it. But here I am. ... Despite Miss C's tongue, lip and buccal ties and an extremely painful and difficult start to breastfeeding, we're here. I kept looking, kept asking, kept persisting (kept crying) and we eventually found out rhythm after about 9weeks. With more knowledge and experience and an IBCLC appointment 19hrs after Bubba's birth, and chiro muscle releases a few days later, our start to breastfeeding has been so much smoother. Pain-free in less than 2 weeks And I must admit, a toddler has been extremely helpful in easing sore engorged boobs that just drown a newborn There are MANY moments I feel touched out. I don't want to feed my toddler but at the same time, I do love it for it's easy, calm reconnection time. Our moment to just be Mummy and Miss C. I have only fed them both at the same time a handful of times. It can be a little tricky to negotiate all the limbs! And for me it's physically overwhelming and I end up with more aversion than when I feed them separately. Through pain, blisters, overwhelm, sleep deprivation, oversupply, dairy free diets, aversion and all the rest...was LOVE, CONNECTION, EASE, SIMPLICITY, STILLNESS, PRIDE. Breastfeeding for 2.5yrs and counting

11.01.2022 My new covers arrived yesterday so now my collection is big enough to cope with FULL TIME cloth! I'm recommitted to only using disposables for overnight. I even bought another wet bag to put the dirty nappies (and toddler undies) in while we're out. . I even found all my cloth wipes again but this time I've made a spray to go with them. Thanks to @marvellouslymel for the idea!! I put Lavender, Frankincense, Tea Tree, Geranium and Copaiba oil mixed with a bottle (115ml) of Fractionated Coconut Oil then topped off with water. Shake and spray on the cloth wipe before using. So easy!! And it means EVERYTHING goes in the wash. No more separating disposable nappy wipes from my cloth nappies into the bin. . #clothnappies #environmentallyfriendly #reducereuserecycle

10.01.2022 This idea came to me one night at 2am when thanks to pregnancy insomnia I was staring at the ceiling. . My Support Tree . At my Mother Shower, my close and dear friends and family wrote their name on a little tag and then tied it to the tree with some green wool. ... . Another piece of green wool was then tied around their wrist (or ankle) so that every time they looked down at that string they would think of me and send me good vibes and thoughts for my birth. . We also created an Emotional Birth Blend. . Everyone picked an oil based on its emotional properties and how they would like me to feel during my birth. . I put that blend into both a roller to wear as a perfume and in an empty bottle to add to the diffuser. . It was such an incredibly powerful afternoon full of love and support. Now, every time I look over into my birth space I can see just how much love and support I have in my tree and it brings such a smile to my face. See more
