24.01.2022 How can I make my tooth strong? Here are some tips to help you look after your teeth. - Diet: a balanced diet using foods which are healthy for gums and teeth including: Fibres and minerals such as whole grains bread... Water and Juice, always keep hydrated Proteins, Fruits and Vegetables, Low-Fat Dairy Calcium reach food like cheese and nuts - Brush regularly (twice a day): Choose a toothbrush with a small head to have better access to back teeth and soft bristles which are kind with your gum. The best time for brushing is 10 minutes after your meals. - Use fluoridated toothpaste. Fluoride will assist your teeth to strengthen your tooth enamel and reduces the risk of the cavity. - Brush vigilantly. Brush every single tooth for at least 2 minutes. When kids are brushing supervise them to do it correctly and thoroughly. - Floss your teeth every day. Take your time when you are flossing; gently floss between each tooth. - Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, cordials, etc. Acidic liquids soften tooth material and dissolve the minerals in tooth enamel, leading to a cavity. - Avoid sugary foods and snacks. Bacteria in your mouth change sugars into acids. If you have a sweet tooth, always wash your tooth after eating chocolate or sweet snacks, or at least drink a couple of glass of water! - Protect your teeth. Wear a mouthguard if you have teeth-grinding and/or doing contact sports. - Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food. If you use them to crack nuts, remove bottle tops or rip open packaging, you risk chipping or even breaking your teeth. - Do not forget to visit your dentist for a regular check-up. if you have a dental problem such as a toothache or bleeding gums please call us for further investigation. 16.01.2022 Invisalign or Braces? Which one works better? Which one works faster? Which one is the best option for my teeth? Generally most of the orthodontic cases can be treated with both Invisalign and braces with pretty much similar treatment time and outcome. So it means that most of the time it is your choice if to go ahead with Invisalign or braces:... Dental Braces are a fixed option, meaning the clinician use a specific adhesive to fix the attachments on your teeth and then tie orthodontic wires sequentially into the attachments to gradually move the teeth into the designed position. As it is fixed, you have to avoid specific types of food to avoid broken braces, moreover you should brush your teeth and braces for longer time and meticulously to be able to remove food debris and bacterial plaque around wires, attachments and teeth. In contrary, Invisalign is a removable option, meaning although you must wear the clear aligners (trays) full time, you can remove them for eating and brushing, so there is no limitation for eating, and no hassle for brushing.
