23.01.2022 TROPICAL LIGHT, DARWIN Opens Bruce Munro's world first City-wide exhibition has launched in Darwin. Tropical Light will be on show until 30 April 2020 and as expected, it's worth the wait! Over the past few months, we have been working with the team at Tourism NT and NT Major Events Company to mentor 10 NT businesses in creating new tours and offers to connect visitors to Tropical Light experiences. 23.01.2022 ACCELERATE Mentoring Program Launch We're delighted to be a co-partner of this program which has received the support of the WA State Government through the RNIF grant scheme to assist us in developing a new, regionally specific mentoring program across the Lower Great Southern, initiated by Great Southern Centre for Outdoor Recreation Excellence in partnership with The Amazing South Coast. DTM has 8 fantastic businesses across Denmark, Mt Barker and Albany to work with over the next 6 months, to build new tourism experiences and distribution capability through the Tourism ACE and Tourism MATES modules. 18.01.2022 40 YEARS OF SANCTUARY Drift back in time 40 years to 20th November 1978, a date etched into the fabric of Australias history. On this day a 36 foot Sperm whale was caught by the Cheynes IV whale chaser ship and towed back to the whaling station in Albany, Western Australia. This whale would be the very last whale caught in Australian waters, as the following day the whaling station closed, marking the end of the era of whaling in Australia. Drift forward 40 years to 20th Nov...ember 2018, and Albany's Historic Whaling Station is marking the 40th Anniversary with an immersive musical journey, marking the last night of the Whaling Station. A cast of international and local musicians and singers will bring the unique whaling station spaces, stories and history to life. 12.01.2022 MEET 'MISS PIGGY' She is a Tiger Oscar South American Cichlid and the star attraction at the Kimberley Croc Motel in Kununurra, Western Australia. She does not like playing with other fish (she eats them) and gets upset if her tank furniture is moved around when cleaning. She will go and put it all back exactly where she wants it. 05.01.2022 ALBANY LIGHTS UP FOR HELLOWORLD The Amazing South Coast turned on a show for a group of Helloworlds Wholesale Reservations consultants visiting Albany last week as guests of Tourism Western Australia The group experienced a 4 day self-drive of Australia's South West, visiting the award-winning National Anzac Centre and Albanys ANZAC memorials, including the location of Australias first Dawn Service, before a enjoying the spectacular Field of Light; Avenue of Honour exhibit, commissioned by FORM. A big thank you to Susan McCabe from Busy Blue Bus who hosted the group for ASC on a Lights and Dine package, to experience the product which can now be booked through all Helloworld brands.
