19.01.2022 The glitter has settled! Well what can I say, that was simply a fantastic night. It's taken me a week to recover and get to this message. Firstly I need to thank my new partner in plotting Lex van Netten, you set the challenge and I hope I rose to the occasion. I set a foundation and your dedication created the momentum that delivered a seamless event. I couldn't have done it with out you. Charisma Belle from a boozy chat about hosting the big gig to being absolutley amazing,... it was your night and we can't thank you and your team enough for all the work you put in to make the evening truly fabulous. To all the showgirls and venues who allowed us to not only showcase their work, but also gave their time freely, thank you. I've long felt that a DIVA that showcased performances currently on the scene would create a new energy for those venues and we'd get people back out seeing shows. We showcased the best of the best last week and I hope it's a catalyst for all those in the room and the wider community to support venues that support Drag and to tell their friends that drag in Sydney is still the best in the world. For those performers that couldn't showcase their work, let's hope next year you can bring your shows to the night. We couldn't do any of it without sponsors and we thank them all, your support has been invaluable. From venues to suppliers, the production crew, friends of Diva both old and new, the grand ballroom and their staff, and the army of friends who ran around for us and volunteered on the day and night. I searched hard for two years to find the reason to continue producing Diva, and like I said the other night, it's probably just the break we needed to revitalise the old girl. Last Monday night proved to me that Diva has a place in our community, which we saw with the incredible energy in the room. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone who came, who performed, presented, supported, talked about shared about this incredible night. We're extremely excited to deliver Diva's 30th anniversary in 2020. See you then. Sheila. See more
