24.01.2022 I'm thrilled to announce I can now teach the TDI Stage Cave Diver and TDI Advanced Side Mount Diver Courses. These courses are the next step after TDI Full Cave. The Stage Cave Course introduces additional bottom mix (penetration) cylinders for Back Mount Twin Divers and the Advanced Side Mount Course teaches how to manage additional (penetration) cylinders for Side Mount Divers.... For more details send me a FB Msg / Email / Text or call me.

24.01.2022 A fun weekend teaching the TDI Side Mount Diver Course for Perth Scuba with Braedon and Claire enjoying a not so toasty 16 degrees at The Coombe. The sun came out but the water had a bit of a bite to it making the course a bit more interesting. Keep up the Skills'N'Drills and I hope to see you back in the water Side Mount Diving soon.

23.01.2022 Well done to Matt and Hope for completing the CDAA Basic Cave Course on Sunday as well as Chris for completing the Confined Water and Stress Test Dives in Preparation for the CDAA Cave Course on our upcoming Nullarbor Trip. The -1.7 degree camping made us happy to get into the 13 degree water (most of us wore our dry suit undergarments thermals as PJ’s ). More fun to come on the Nullarbor trip in July. Can’t wait!

23.01.2022 Really stoked about having a Nullarbor Trip Report published in the "TDI News" email this week

22.01.2022 Well done to Giles G on completing the SDI Junior Open Water Diver course. Also congratulations on Ann G who re-did her open water with Giles. It was interesting working within all the social distancing rules. Ann (mum), Giles (son) were chaperoned by Mark (dad). Mark and I switched 2nd stage regulators so that during air share skills we were actually breathing off our own regs (albeit on the buddies 1st stage)... It's been some time since I taught an open water course (this being my first SDI OW as well). I love the changes that focus new divers on both the core skills all Divers need but also the introduction of trim, buoyancy and tec type kicks that instil good habits right from Dive 1. Hope to see you all back in the water soon!

22.01.2022 Gareth Lock is coming to Perth to run his "The Human Factors In Diving" 2 day course. Please click the link for full details including dates and costs (2 seperate courses are being run so there are 12 spots in total available). Below is an extract from Gareth's web site:... Why should I learn about this? These courses do not focus on the technical aspects of diving but rather decision making, situational awareness, communications and cooperation skills, and crucially, their interdependence. Research indicates that diving incidents are rarely down to undetected technical issues rather they are impacted by the variability of human performance. i.e. we make mistakes, errors and break the rules! Divers spend plenty of money on the 'shiny' stuff but how often do you consider improving the grey matter between your ears? That grey matter has far more impact on your safety than the latest gadget...

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Hope for completing the SDI Solo Diver Course on Saturday at Wellington Dam. A chilli 13 degrees added some flavour to the day as did the walk to the waters edge (I've never seen the water that low in Wellington Dam). Great work and keep up the Skills!!

17.01.2022 Great day Teaching for Perth Scuba and well done Mark, Sam, Nigel & Brendan on completing the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures course. We had an eventful dive in Logue Brook Dam managing fresh water, a variance in water temp of 24 down to 15 degree's as well as line and reel work. Geed effort on everyones behalf.... Keep up the skills and enjoy Truk Lagoon later this year.

16.01.2022 Love this post!

16.01.2022 Great 3 days diving the Key Biscayne on Blue Destiny teaching the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses with Helaina and Chevi for Perth Scuba. Chevi also completed the TDI Helitrox Diver and enjoyed some narcosis free dives whilst on the KB. Great effort to both students. Keep up the Skills'N'Drills.

15.01.2022 Awesome coule of days teaching the TDI Side Mount Diver course with Mundawae for Perth Scuba this weekend. Water is starting to get a tad cooler with 18 degrees out at depth. Thanks to the efforts of Andy and Eli, the pole trail in the river is now easier for laying and retrieving line. So Mundawae enjoyed his first taste of a S&%T Vis river diving while maintaining contact with the line at all times. ... Well done Mundi and keep mup those Skills"N"Drills. Hope to see you down at The coombe again soon.

15.01.2022 Thanks Mark Street for making my new Open Circuit Pre-Jump Check Lists. Look forward to getting them wet! A lot of CCR Divers use Check lists but it should be part of every divers kit (recreational and technical).

15.01.2022 So great to be on another Nullarbor Expiration again. Lots of Skills’N’Drills and a new found respect for staying close to the line. Now its time for dome fun dives in Weebubbie

14.01.2022 Another day at Weebubbie Cave and we have two more TDI Full Cave Divers in our team. Great work Pongo Pygmaeus and Rachel. Good communication, team work and safety checks. It was a pleasure having you both as students. Keep up the Skills’N’Drills and I look forward to our next Nullarbor Adventure.

12.01.2022 Recent interview on ABC Esperance.

11.01.2022 Love spending time on the KB with Blue Destiny

10.01.2022 Here is your chance for some great thought provoking training.

09.01.2022 Another great 2 days of fun teaching the TDI Side Mount Diver Course for Perth Scuba. A great effort by Matt and Chevi and a special thanks for Helaina for tagging along for some fun dives. Keep up the Skills'N'Drills guys!!

09.01.2022 Great way to spend a Sunday teaching the SDI Solo Dive Course for Perth Scuba. Well done to Rick and Simon. Good planning and strategies on how to safely plan and execute Solo Dives. Keep up the training and see you soon.

08.01.2022 Congrats to Helaina Rose for completing the CDAA Basic Cave Course at Logue Brook Dam today. We had a nice cool 14 degrees in the water making for a refreshing no mask experience. Thanks also to Gerard for being Helaina’s buddy today. ... Keep up the Skills’N’Drills

05.01.2022 A great weekend of Introductory Tec Training with the TDI Side Mount Diver Course being completed by Jordan, Jake and Hatta. Even Sundays downpour did not stop the team from getting through all the Skills’N’Drills. Congratulations gents! Keep up the Side Mount Diving and I look forward to your next endeavour in Tec Courses.

04.01.2022 Great weekend teaching the TDI Advanced Side Mount Specialty. The course minimum requires the use of 4 cylinders (2 primaries + 2 stages) but Alex, Dave & Dave didn't like the idea of the word minimum hence we added a few extra to play with. These skills will come in handy when head out to the Nullarbor later this month. ... Congrats to all.

02.01.2022 Great few days of Diving and Caving for my students completing their Cave level dual certifications at Tommy Grahams Cave on the Nullarbor. Great effort Chris David, Paul and Elijah Martin on completing both the CDAA Cave and TDI Full Cave certifications and Valdimar fo completing the TDI Full Cave course. Hard slog getting gear to the water as well as lots of Skills’N’Drills in the water. ... We have two more days of fun dives and then some go home and some move on to Pannikin Plains. Can’t think of a better way to spend a few weeks with a great crew!
