25.01.2022 Bring your family and friends along this Saturday 26th and enjoy a day of citizen science fun on the reef with Lady Musgrave Experience and the Reef Keepers Citizen Science Team! Call 4151 5225 to book your place now, or drop into our office to reserve with our friendly reservations team!

24.01.2022 Come along to discover your local reefs and learn how you can make the most of some materials designed specifically to help you learn more about the corals and marine life on your doorstep, and what you can do to help!!! https://fb.me/e/1TuiMIEPFhttps://fb.me/e/1TuiMIEPF

22.01.2022 Mushroom corals look like the underside of a big portobello mushroom! While most corals are made up of thousands of tiny individuals living in and building a colony, these creatures are each an individual polyp animal living a solitary life. They can grow to be bigger than basketballs!!! The more you explore and seek to understand, the greater your love and appreciation will become. ... Galaxea is a cool coral genera and is a great example of the complex formations corals can take on. You can find the same species in many different formations. Most commonly seen in a massive or boulder formation, Galaxea can also branch out so beautifully if the biophysical conditions are right! #Coralreef #Marinebiology #Marinescience #lovethereef #greatbarrierreef #greatbarrierreefmarinepark #coralhealth #reeftherapy #diving #diversofinstagram #coralbleaching #coralconservation #marineconservation #naturalhistory #naturalsciences #ecology #underwater #underthesea #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #southerngreatbarrierreef #holidayherethisyear #masterreefguides #fungia #mushrooms #mushroomcoral

22.01.2022 For all the aspiring reef heroes and marine biologists!

21.01.2022 One of the most powerful and disturbing pictures I have ever seen. An albatross bird feeding her baby plastic. Millions of birds unknowingly kill their young because of our obsession with SingleUsePlastic. Please Stop Using Plastic.

21.01.2022 Although we can't get out to the reef to monitor how it's going, there's still so much we can do from home!!!

19.01.2022 This Coral Trout is roe'd up and ready to pop, just like so many other creatures on the Great Barrier Reef making love and babies at this time of the year! #Coralreef #Marinebiology #Marinescience #lovethereef #greatbarrierreef #greatbarrierreefmarinepark #coralhealth #reeftherapy #diving #diversofinstagram #coralbleaching #coralconservation #marineconservation #naturalhistory #naturalsciences #ecology #underwater #underthesea #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #southerngreatbarrierreef #holidayherethisyear #masterreefguides

19.01.2022 For those interested in some more in-depth learning, apply to be a champion citizen scientist as a Bundy Reef Ambassador! Applications are now open: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6X9YD75

19.01.2022 Who'd like to spend a couple of days on the beautiful Lady Elliot Island to become a CoralWatch Ambassador? A great opportunity to learn more about reef health and help spread the word about how people can make a difference! The deadline has been extended until October 7th as most applicants were from the Brisbane area and they are looking for a wider spread, so don't hesitate to apply and get in quick before it closes :) https://coralwatch.org/index.php/ambassadors/

19.01.2022 One person CAN make a difference! Andy is from Italy, he moved to Australia recently and came out to the reef to discover the island and swim with the wildlife on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. After learning a bit more on the Lady Musgrave Experience and having a very special and memorable encounter with a turtle, Andy decided to try scuba diving for the first time, and (more importantly) go home and do his bit to help ensure the survival of sea turtles. Andy decided to put a collection container out at his Friday afternoon work drinks, take all the bottles to the refund scheme, and donate all that money to the Sea Turtle Foundation. Have you fell in love with the reef yet? What can you do in your everyday life to protect it, and make sure it’s around for future generations to enjoy?

17.01.2022 It only takes one person, a bit of awareness and a few small changes. If you haven't visited the reef already, what are you waiting for? I promise you'll fall in love! :)

15.01.2022 Have you always wanted to be a marine biologist? Crazy about turtles? Maybe you just #lovethereef? Anyone can participate as a #citizenscientist and cont...ribute to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Management to ensure the reef will be around for many generations to come! Whether you're a student, teacher, school, mum, dad, teenager, retiree, none or all of the above, we'd love to have you as part of our community of Reef Guardians for Generations! 15.01.2022 Dive for change was inspired by an International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) initiative: #Natureforall. Nature for All is a global movement to inspire love of nature, and there’s no better way to do so than getting out to explore and discover our wonderful world. Dive for Change Australia aims to provide opportunities for people - both adults and children - to discover and learn about their natural world, and experience moments where they connect, fall in love with, and feel inspired to protect the beautiful natural world around them. It is also a place to share information about conservation groups, their events and interesting initiatives.

15.01.2022 How different does this Pavona sp. look up close compared to at a distance?! The reef can teach you a lot about perspective. From a distance, this coral looks like a bright pop in the reefscape, while up close you can get a whole new appreciation for its intricacy and beauty. Dive deeper, take a closer look, get down to the nitty gritty. Be amazed ... #Coralreef #Marinebiology #Marinescience #lovethereef #greatbarrierreef #greatbarrierreefmarinepark #coralhealth #reeftherapy #diving #diversofinstagram #coralbleaching #coralconservation #marineconservation #naturalhistory #naturalsciences #ecology #underwater #underthesea #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #southerngreatbarrierreef #holidayherethisyear #masterreefguides

10.01.2022 Congratulations to the amazing Bundaberg Reef Keepers! They've been working hard to learn about and collect reef health information with Lady Musgrave Experience and Master Reef Guides. Look out for them in your community as they set out to share their learnings and become ambassadors for the beautiful Great Barrier Reef! These activities were made possible thanks to a partnership between the Australian Government and Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

06.01.2022 What will you do this Plastic Free July? You don't have to do everything, every day. Just do one little thing today. If we all just do one little thing, it will be a big thing. Every little bit counts! https://www.plasticfreejuly.org//what-you-can-do/category/

05.01.2022 Don't forget to apply!!!

05.01.2022 Acropora species are characterised by an axial corallite: one little hole, distinguishably different from the others that stands out at the tip of the coral branch. If you look closely you can see the polyp animals in each of the corallites! #Coralreef #Marinebiology #Marinescience #lovethereef #greatbarrierreef #greatbarrierreefmarinepark #coralhealth #reeftherapy #diving #diversofinstagram #coralbleaching #coralconservation #marineconservation #naturalhistory #naturalscien...ces #ecology #underwater #underthesea #seeaustralia #thisisqueensland #southerngreatbarrierreef #holidayherethisyear #masterreefguides #keppel #keppelisland #freedomfastcats See more

03.01.2022 If you’re a teacher who loves the ocean, snorkelling and corals and are keen to learn more about CoralWatch, this could be for you! Learn about coral biology, the monitoring methodology and how to integrate a set of ready-to-go curriculum linked lessons in the classroom!

02.01.2022 Mesmerising colours of Platyhelminthes, or Flatworms. These critters don't have any respiratory or circulatory system, so obtain all of their oxygen and nutrients by passing water over their body, a process called diffusion. They also eat and poop through the same hole! ... #Marinescience #marineconservation #Marinebiology #conservation #marinelife #marine #Marinebiology #marineanimals #marinebiologist #Coralreef #coralhealth #lovethereef #southerngreatbarrierreef #masterreefguides #reeftherapy #diving #diversofinstagram #coralconservation #greatbarrierreef #greatbarrierreefmarinepark #research #education #educateyourself #coral #coralbleaching
