16.01.2022 GDay All, With an increased number of enquiries to DIVA on whether diving is permitted or not, please note that DIVA is not the body that decides whether diving is acceptable or not. You must read the up to date government restrictions and make your own decision whether to dive or not. Please note that the below government page is updated regularly.... DIVA is in regular contact with the state govt to keep them aware of the impact that past/present/future restrictions are having on the dive industry

14.01.2022 Worth watching, thanks to The University of Melbourne.

13.01.2022 Gday Guys, Just to give you an update on DIVA’s position ref active DIVA members Scuba Diving Practices during the current COVID-19. All active members have assured that the practices they are operating under adhere to current government guidelines. These government guidelines are changing daily, and are being monitored by these active DIVA members.... We hope that the current COVID situation abates shortly, and that we can get back to doing what we all love in an unobstructed manner. We encourage you to look after yourselves at this time and make your own decision as to how you proceed with your diving, safe in the knowledge that your local DIVA operator is taking measures to adhere to the constantly modified directives on business practices during this unique period. If you have any questions, please contact your local operator. Please remember to support your local dive operator. Without your local dive shop, there is no industry. Best Regards, DIVA Committee 2019/20

11.01.2022 GDay Guys, We are currently investigating what todays 11am announcement from the premier means for Scuba Diving and the businesses involved. The state minister is going to phone us at 1300 to discuss.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Peter. 25 years service.

03.01.2022 Thanks to the support of recreational rock lobster fishers and dive clubs, our 3-year tagging trial is set to become an ongoing program! In the first 2 seaso...ns, over 14,000 lobsters were reported by more than 8,000 registered participants. This information has significantly increased our data on the recreational take of rock lobster in Victoria, enhanced the accuracy of annual stock assessments and improved the management of the fishery. Continuing to get a clear snapshot of recreational catch allows us to combine this knowledge with our understanding of the commercial fishery, putting us in a strong position to manage a healthy fishery into the future. Soon, we’ll be collaborating with recreational fishers and industry to further enhance the current Vic RL Tag app and trial the concept of a ‘digital tag’. A digital tag would streamline the reporting process and reduce the plastic footprint. #rocklobster #craydiving #fisheriesvic
