21.01.2022 Change is scary. Even positive change. And not everyone will see the changes we make for ourselves as "positive" despite very much being so.... Draw from what gives you strength, and remember you are a work in progress.

21.01.2022 Today is the very first LGBTQIA+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day. "The theme for our 2020 event is #ImHereForYou. #ImHereForYou aims to raise awareness of Domestic Violence (DV) in LGBTIQ+ communities, remember LGBTIQ+ victims of DV who have lost their lives, recognise LGBTIQ+ survivors and acknowledge the struggles of those LGBTIQ+ people who may currently be in an abusive relationship. ... Many victims and survivors of DV in LGBTIQ+ relationships feel invisible, like they wont be supported, and that no one will believe them. On LGBTI Domestic Violence Awareness Day, we ask you to show your support by downloading our resource kit (https://www.lgbtidvawarenessday.com) and taking a photo or video and posting it to your social media platforms, conveying messages of hope to LGBTIQ+ victims and survivors of DV that there are people out there that support them and that are there for them."

Even if youve never dated someone of the opposite or a different gender: Even if other people insist where you must fit: Your partner (or lack of partner!) does not define your sexuality. Only you can

16.01.2022 Through increasingly weird and trying times; were all doing our best to land on our feet (or as close to upright as possible). 10.01.2022 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. The message for R U OK? Day 2020 is Theres more to say after R U OK?. ... We want Australians know what to say when someone says theyre not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. You can learn what to say at www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

10.01.2022 Today we stand with and acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal people; whose land QLife and Diverse Voices exists upon, and join the nation in saying "We are Sorry" to all First people of Australia. We are Sorry; For the hurt. For the separation of family.... For the ongoing trauma and sense of loss. We also know that "Sorry" is just a word, if there is no action to follow it. "Sorry" must be a doing word. QLife and Diverse Voices will always champion and elevate the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to speak their narrative, tell their story, and continue building on our spaces to promote support, and pride in cultural identity. During Reconcilliation Week and the lead up to NAIDOC in particular, we look forward to highlighting cross sections of LGBTQIA+ indigenous lives and stories. #DiverseVoices #LBGTQIA #QLife #NationalSorryDay2020 #Reconcilliation #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

09.01.2022 International Pronouns Day seeks to make respecting, sharing, and educating about personal pronouns commonplace. Referring to people by the pronouns they determine for themselves is basic to human dignity. Being referred to by the wrong pronouns particularly affects transgender and gender nonconforming people. Together, we can transform society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities https://youtu.be/3xpvricekxU

08.01.2022 A message from our friends at Wendybird....
