25.01.2022 JobKeeper Payment changes The government has introduced changes to the JobKeeper Payment, making it easier for you and your business clients to qualify. The new rules have now been registered and are effective from 3 August 2020. The changes to these rules include: employees’ eligibility for the JobKeeper Payment can now be assessed from 1 July 2020, rather than 1 March 2020... employees can now be nominated by new employers if their employment has changed since the JobKeeper Payment began. However, they can still only be nominated by one employer at any given time employers have until 31 August 2020 to meet the wage condition for new eligible employees under the 1 July eligibility test for: Fortnight 10 commencing on 3 August, and Fortnight 11 commencing 17 August 2020. Businesses can claim reimbursement for their new eligible employees between 1 and 14 September 2020, when they lodge their August monthly declaration. Your eligible business and not-for-profit clients can still enrol at any time until the program closes. Further announcements and guidance on the extension to JobKeeper are subject to the passage of legislation by the Australian Government.

The Fair Work Commission has introduced changes that include further written documentation, specifying outer limits such as overtime and penalty rate hours and recording of start, finish and break times. 17.01.2022 The Fair Work Commission has announced a 1.75% increase to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) following its 2020 Annual Wage Review. The increase applies to awards in 3 stages, which start from the first full pay period on or after: 1 July 2020... 1 November 2020 1 February 2021. If you’re not sure which award applies, you can use Find my award on the FairWork website. For anyone not covered by an award or an enterprise agreement, the new national minimum wage will be $753.80 per week or $19.84 per hour. This applies from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2020. What do I need to do? FairWork are working to update their pay tools, information and resources with the new pay rates. We'll send you another email when the updated pay rates are available.

Here is the ATO fact sheet which provides the new details: https://www.icb.org.au//Treasury-Factsheet-(21July)-JK-ext But in layman's terms, here's the run down: ... - Nothing changes before the end of September, then - If your turnover has continued to be less than same time last year then you can stay in the JobKeeper system. Quarterly reviews and assessment will be required. If it hasn't, you'll exit the system at the end of September. - JobKeeper amounts change to $1200 per fortnight for those who worked more than 20 hours in February 2020 and $750 for those that worked less. - Another review happens based on the December Quarter and if you remain eligible then JobKeeper amounts will change to $1,000 and $650 per fortnight. - Your actual GST turnover needs to be assessed on the same basis on which you report your BAS - It is no longer about a potential decline in turnover but assessing actual figures.
