23.01.2022 The State Government has a range of public health measures in place to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). For the latest advice and updates on coronavirus in Victoria visit https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus Disposing of single-use personal protective equipment (PPE) items such as face masks, gloves and aprons will depend on where you have used them. This fact sheet tells you how to... dispose of your PPE waste at home and in the workplace. How to dispose of PPE from households Single-use PPE worn during regular daily activities, such as exercise or buying groceries, should be placed in a general waste bin. For households with a suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 case, place disposable PPE and tissues into a sealed plastic or paper bag, and then in your general waste bin. Thoroughly clean your hands before and after carrying rubbish to your general waste bin or moving bins to and from the kerbside. Dont place PPE in any recycling bins See more

22.01.2022 Media statement from Colac Area Health chief executive Fiona Brew: There are a small number of new positive cases of COVID-19 in the Colac region under investig...ation, with a large amount of potential close contacts being investigated. Colac Area Health and DHHS are providing advice to several workplaces, while Barwon Healths contact tracing team is working to determine all potential close contacts. A staff member from the Bulla Family Dairy team in Colac is among those who has tested positive, with the Connor Street site temporarily closed for deep cleaning and the contact tracing process underway. We commend Bulla for being proactive and implementing additional health and safety protocols during the pandemic, as well as the Colac community that has been following precautions to stay safe. If you are in isolation support is available: - Colac Community Help Line: 1800 512 424 - Colac Otway Shire: 5232 9400 Financial support may be available for Victorians who are waiting for test results, self-isolating or are a close contact of a confirmed case. Its also important to look after your mental health during this pandemic tips and support services are available on the DHHS website. The Colac community response to the pandemic has been supportive, paying attention to the Chief Health Officer directives and supporting one another. Please remember to get tested, even if your symptoms are mild. We need to continue working together to get Colac back to zero cases and Im confident we can achieve this if we remain vigilant and follow the advice from DHHS.

HIPPY supports a love of learning, school and kinder confidence and is fun for the whole family. HIPPY values parents/carers as their child’s first and most important teacher. 01.01.2022 Halima Aden, the first hijabi supermodel, opened up about how trying to make it in the fashion industry caused her to compromise her beliefs. The 23-year-old... Somali American model posted a series of IG stories candidly highlighting photoshoots, campaigns and runway shows she was a part of that she says should've done a better job of representing the hijab. She also points out that the lack of diversity in the industry has led to little understanding of the hijab. Halima gives credit to her mother for giving her the courage to address her hijab journey publicly and to step away from the fashion industry. "Not even for $10 million would I ever risk compromising my hijab ever again ... I'm guarding my hijab unlike EVER before," Halima wrote on social media. Halima has been a model since 2017. She was the first hijab-wearing woman to compete in the Miss Minnesota pageant and the first to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue in a hijab and burkini. See more
