23.01.2022 Hi fellow bubble heads, I'd like to share some of the more interesting things I find while servicing and will offer a possible explanation for what has occurred. This week I was servicing a Oceanic CDX5/GT3 with a Alpha 9 Ocky. When first inspected I found both mouthpieces to be upside down, no big deal but they do have UP written on them, so no excuse for getting it wrong. It had a high interstage pressure which indicated to me an issue in the 1st stage. On stripping I fou...nd the reg had recently been serviced and the HP seat was worn on one side. On closer inspection I found the push rod was bent and this was the possible cause of the uneven wear in the HP seat. Next was the Alpha 9 casing and as you can see there is a fine crack at the inlet fitting. In both of the above cases I will assume that when previously serviced either incorrect procedure was followed or a lack of attention to detail on assembly or disassembly in the Alpha 9 situation. This has been a costly service for the current owner who recently purchased this second hand and was told it had been recently serviced. So all you budding technicians please pay attention to detail and follow procedures, if you are having an issue I'm available to assist you...

17.01.2022 Hi all, well the Covid-19 situation continues and we will have a small glimmer of life after it this May long weekend. The partial release of the masses onto the environment this weekend is a bit of a God send with a few of us venturing out to dive. Fish and critters brace yourself. For those venturing to the GBR, I hope the seas are calm and the fish and critters are in abundance. I've been diving regularly in the Lakes with the main focus being the adjustment to my new Hel...ium H20 sidemount BCD, which has lightweight titanium and Delrin fittings. Pretty much indestructible rig. Nice unit but comes in pieces with no instructions!! Maybe it's a Russian thing. All good and sorted and if you are looking for a bullet proof Sidemount BCD to dive just ask me for a test dive. Also I now have a Halcyon Zero Gravity Sidemount BCD and will be testing this weekend. I have the Local LEG's tech team and others to assist in diving it. Will look forward to what the Gals and Guys have to say about it. If you would like to try a dive in it I can arrange to either dive with you or you can borrow to dive with it. I can assist in the setting up and correct adjustment and can also train to dive in either of them. Stay safe this weekend and see you all in the not so distant future...

01.01.2022 Hi fellow Bubble heads and other interested peps. My aim with this page is to primarily create an awareness and to help educate about looking after your precious equipment. Also any servicing related issues, that I see and I will comment on and post for all to get a broader understanding of how to love your gear properly. ... This will be based on what I perceive as "interesting stuff" that I'd like share with you. Also, I will be sharing issues, the effects and the solution, based on what I've seen over the years of servicing equipment. I will also try and debunk any "way out" opinions and myths about equipment servicing as well. The comments I make will be my on own personal opinion, stemming from over thirty years of servicing and over thirty five years as a Dive Professional. In addition, I will also run some specials on pre dived equipment, which has been recycled, serviced and ready for re-loving. Feel free to send through questions and I will endeavour to answer them for you. I also have limited access to new equipment and can supply a range of gear. I also import equipment so look for the specials that I will post. Safe and happy diving everyone...
