23.01.2022 LOCTICIAN TIP & RECOMMENDATION FOR ANYONE WANTING DREADS: Dread bases and sectioning is almost as important as laying the foundation of a house! When your bases are created randomly by just grabbing at hairs, what you get is a messy base that leads to dread merging, congos forming & continuous difficulty doing neat maintenance. Dreads may also be too thin or too thick which can also cause issues. Always make sure your as a loctician - you do quality sectioning work. You shou...ld know exactly how much hair is needed for each base depending on the clients hair type & what width of dreads they want. POTENTIAL DREAD CLIENTS: Always check that your potential loctician asks you questions such as what type of hair you have and what width of dread you want. If they dont theyre not client centred & might not know what theyre doing or offer a professional job. I recently had a few complaints from people who got dreads from a loctician in SA who advertised as being professional & experienced. Yet she had not done any sectioning correctly and the dread results were very messy and the people unhappy. This person is also offering to train others in a 1 day course for the same price as I offer my 4 day Advanced LIve Loctician Course. This is very scary considering that they dont know the basics of sectioning, the very vital foundation of all dread work! So peeps out there, if you offer dread services, make sure you know how to section correctly and if not, learn! Messy sections create messy problematic dreads! And for those of you wanting good dreads, always check on a locticians pages for evidence of quality work in photos ensuring the work is theirs & look at reviews. You can save a lot of time, hassle, grief and money by doing your research first!

As some of you know I have been healing my spine which was damaged from a car accident so I cant do much dreadlocking right now, but I am feeling by NOV or DEC I should be able to do enough to demo my techniques in the live course!! 19.01.2022 I created dreads for Jup initially back in 2008 or so. He grew them until they hit his bum & ran around NZ & USA with them doing marathons for charity. He got hot & sweaty, so he kept cutting them to maintain a manageable length. Hed fly into Australia once or twice a year & always stop into see me for maintenance. Then in 2015 he cut them off. ... He missed them & felt his running presence wasnt the same! So he came back to me in 2016 to have new dreads created in short hair & I rejoined his old loved dreads! He felt complete again. Im be sharing more photos of his journey in the next few days to illustrate this history. Whats your story with dreads?

18.01.2022 So it seems theres quite a few of you guys out there who are super keen for my final LIVE ADVANCED LOCTICIAN CERTIFICATE COURSE! YAY! If you are keen to commit read on for more info: As times are so uncertain and we dont know if sudden restrictions may prevent out of state students from getting to the Byron Shire last minute, I plan to run this course as a online/live combo. ... 01.01.2022 I simply love the versatility of dreads! Jup had dreads made by me 10 years ago, grew them to his bum, got into marathons & eventually cut them off. But he didnt feel the same without them. So after growing his hair back to about 15cm long, he came back to me to have his old beloved dreads put back on! There was no visible difference to his old dreads. With excellent extension work you cant see the join if you try! Happy days!
