22.01.2022 Thought it about time to revisit this ...
19.01.2022 Just another Beautiful day at the beach
16.01.2022 When you offer or give someone a gift, whether it be something that you made or purchased for them, or just spending your time helping them in some way, do you expect something back in return? Perhaps a word of thanks, or a smile, even a hug :) some form of public recognition? Why? What was the reason for you doing it in the first place? Do you give just to receive? To bask in the glow of recognition of what a wonderful person you are, kind, generous, humble?... I'm certainly not saying that we shouldn't smile, hug or give thanks (there should be more of it, in fact!) - it is the expectation of receiving back, rather than just doing it because you wanted to, or could, with no thought of recognition for your act. If it was truly a gift from the heart, it would be unconditional. Just like when we love someone, unconditionally, no strings attached. I am reminded (frequently : ) of the things that I may have thought that I had learnt - that I haven't quite got there and that I can be and do better. The tree below did not expect any thanks for giving shade to the sheep - and nor did the sheep expect to, unless you count the poo they left behind ... :)
