22.01.2022 Born 25th August, 1905 in Poland, Helena Kowalska came from a large but poor peasant family of ten children. Called during a vision of the suffering Christ on 1st August, 1925, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy and took the name Sr Maria Faustina where she lived for 13 years and worked humbly as a cook, gardener and doorkeeper. She made an ordinary life extraordinary, yet she was very natural, serene and full of kindness. The years she spent in ...the convent were filled with extraordinary gifts, such as revelations, visions, hidden stigmata, participation in the Passion of the Lord, bilocation, the reading of human souls and prophecy. Her living relationship with God, Our Lady, the angels, the saints and the souls in purgatory was as real for her as the world she perceived with the senses. In 1935, Jesus said to Saint Faustina, "You will prepare the world for My final coming." (Diary 429) Jesus also said to her, "In the Old Covenant I sent prophets wielding thunderbolts to my people. Today I am sending you with my mercy to the people of the whole world." (Diary 1588) Saint Faustina, consumed by tuberculosis and innumerable sufferings, which she accepted as a voluntary sacrifice for sinners, died in Craców at the age of 33 on 5th October, 1938. Pope John Paul II canonised her on 30th April, 2000 (Divine Mercy Sunday) as the first saint of the new millennium. Her feast day is 5th October. 22.01.2022 "This year, Pope Francis has called the Church into an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. To better understand this mystery of mercy, let us look to the beautiful image of Divine Mercy from Saint Faustina. The release of this film should encourage us to contemplate this image more deeply in the hopes of understanding Jesus' love, mercy & light for the world!"
21.01.2022 Mass for Protection of the Family Tuesday 11 February, 2020 (Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes) ... St Scholastica’s Catholic Church 348 Burwood Hwy, Bennetswood, Vic 7:00pm Holy Mass Celebrant: Fr Victor Farrugia 7:30pm Adoration and Confession Holy Rosary Divine Mercy Chaplet Pope John Paul II’s Prayer for Families Prayer to St Joseph Concluding with Healing Prayers F.A.M.I.L.Y - Father and Mother, I Love You! Jesus, Mary and Joseph, God’s wonderful family, teach us to live the life that you lived of love, joy and liberty; let the dear peace that filled your home fill our hearts every day, that together with you we may show to the world God’s-wonder-ful-family-way. Lord God, from You every family in Heaven and on earth takes its name. Father, You are love and life. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, born of woman, and through the Holy Spirit, the fountain of divine charity, grant that every family on earth may become for each successive generation a true shrine of life and love. Grant that Your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of husbands and wives for the good of their families and of all the families in the world. Grant that the young may find in the family solid support for their human dignity and for their growth in truth and love. Grant that love, strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of marriage, may prove mightier than all the weaknesses and trials through which our families sometimes pass. Through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that the Church may fruitfully carry out her worldwide mission in the family and through the family. We ask this of You, Who is life, truth and love with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. 21.01.2022 A unique faith filled experience of the healing power of Our Lord MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA 6 February | Dandenong 7 February | Brunswick East... I had breathing problems and had to use 2 inhalers - one twice a day and one once a day. After Alan prayed with me I no longer use my inhalers. This can only be a miracle! - Marie-Therese 6:30pm: Rosary 7:00pm: Mass followed by Alan Ames talk and healing ministry. In 2014, I was told by my oncologist that cancer was spreading from my bladder to my pancreas. When Alan prayed for me nothing happened immediately. However, on my way walking to the car, my breathing became very labour-intensive. This lasted for up to 24 hours. It felt as if it were going right down into the area where the cancer was, and afterward I felt a sense of real peace. Within two weeks, I visited my oncologist, and he said, Good news! No sign of cancer! 15.01.2022 In this groundbreaking documentary, the previously-unknown history of the original masterpiece commissioned by St Faustina Kowalska is beautifully and unforgettably told. Through a series of interviews with key witnesses and individuals intimately connected to the epic adventure, the world's most important work of sacred art is finally given pride of place. Exclusive interviews feature Bishop Robert Barron of Los Angeles, comedian Jim Gaffigan, Harry Connick Jr., George Weige...l (biographer of Saint Pope John Paul II), Cardinal Stanisaw Dziwisz of Krakow, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna, Fr. Michael Gaitley MIC, Fr. Leo Maasburg, and many others. The documentary includes never-before-seen close-up images of the original painting in Vilnius (Lithuania), the permanent home of the Original Image. The Original Image of Divine Mercy has been officially endorsed by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna and president of the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (WACOM), by Gintaras Grušas, Archbishop of Vilnius, Lithuania, and by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. This film has been called "The Hallmark of the Holy Year" and was screened over 3000 times at parishes and theaters around the world between December 08, 2015 and November 20, 2016. 13.01.2022 "In celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday, I wrote this ballad-like adaptation of the famous hymn by one of the greats of the Oxford Movement, and founder of the London Oratory, Rev. Frederick William Faber (1814-1863), "Come to Jesus", which is otherwise known for one of its verses, "There's a Wideness in God's Mercy". The piece is dedicated to Impi Mcbain, because it was her birthday last week. Happy Birthday again, Mum! Her painting of Walsingham appears briefly and in part, at the end of the video, behind the statue." - Nigel Lucas Silvester McBain.
13.01.2022 Happy Mother's Day! :) Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your "Yes" to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God's word and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Dear mother, intercede for al...l of our mothers. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own "Fiat." May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love- the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son. On this Mothers day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us who have recourse to you... In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
12.01.2022 "Have you ever felt the pain of the past? A feeling of guilt, shame or simply confusion? Maybe you have wished with all your heart that you could change something, but can’t? I have. Typically, these feelings run deep and most others just would not understand your personal hurt as they didn’t experience what you did or are not going through what you are currently going through. This makes the pain even stronger. We can all place our selves in the place of Eve, no matter our p...ast, having regret. Maybe it is due to a big thing that we chose knowingly or, perhaps, unknowingly. Maybe it was something that was done to us even and we just did not know how to stop it. No matter what it may be, we are to let go of the past and surrender it all to Jesus through Mary to be redeemed. In this painting, you will notice a bitten apple and a white rose that is growing out of it. This is a symbol of hope and redemption, for nothing is lost or without hope when we give it over to Christ. I pray this image brings you healing, brings you peace, and gives you hope. Sit with it. Pray with it. Just stare at it and let the Holy Spirit work in you. Allow Mother Mary into your life. She yearns to be your mother and will bring you assuredly to Christ." - Kate Copato Art: The Woman Oil on Linen by Visual Grace (Kate Capato)

08.01.2022 500 Years of Virgin Mary Sightings in One Map Apparitions of the Virgin Mary, inspiring wonder and devotion among millions, have been tracked for centuries. FROM A VILLAGE in Rwanda to a rock cave in France, sightings of the Virgin Mary have been reported across the globe since A.D. 40. Since 1531, the Roman Catholic Church has investigated these reports and offered approval to multiple sites where bishops believe miracles occurred, such as Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico Cit...y and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris. National Geographic created a legend for the map that explains which apparitions are approved by the Vatican. Interestingly, they also highlight the dramatic increase in reported apparitions that occurred during the past 60 years. This reached an apex near the end of the 20th century, likely due to all the various prophecies about the end of the millennium. The map is a useful guide for those interested in learning about the various locations of Marian apparitions and seeing how the Virgin Mary has appeared all over the world.

07.01.2022 A beautiful act of mercy!
06.01.2022 "On February 22, 1931, Sr Faustina was visited by Jesus in a vision who revealed himself as: King of Divine Mercy." In that vision, Jesus was wearing a white garment with red and blue rays of light coming from his heart. Jesus made 3 requests of Sr Faustina: 1. She was asked in the vision to become the apostle and secretary of God's mercy.... 2. In her own life, she was to be a model of how to be merciful to others, 3. And she was to be an instrument for re emphasizing God's plan of mercy for the world. In summary, Jesus message to her was: I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not want to punish mankind, but I desire to heal it, pressing it to my Merciful heart. Pope John Paul II promoted her spirituality and on April 30, 2000, she was canonized St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, the first saint of the new millennium. The peace Jesus offers us, is a gift that brings about the greatest assurance we can be given: God is on our side even in our brokenness and fragility. The good news is on this Divine Mercy Sunday the same mercy that was offered to St Peter, St Mary of Magdala, St Paul and St Augustine is offered to us. But it doesn’t stop there. In the sermon on the Mount Jesus said: Blessed are the merciful, they shall have mercy shown them. If we have asked for and received the Mercy of Jesus, we cannot but offer mercy and forgiveness to those who have hurt us. We too are called to bring the mercy of Jesus into our own relationships. This can be the greatest of all challenges and it is only through grace that this can be achieved. But in doing our best to facilitate Peace, we find the peace only Jesus can give."

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA 6 February | Dandenong 7 February | Brunswick East I had been suffering from acute sciatica for around 12 months and my neurosurgeon had informed me that an operation was my only hope to ease the constant and debilitating pain. As a mother of six with a hectic lifestyle, I did not want to take the risk of being out of action and in recovery for a number of months aside from the associated risk factor of back surgery. I said to God just before Alan laid his hands on me, OK God, clearly you are not going to give me a total healing but can you please heal me enough so I can kneel during the Consecration at Mass? The next day I went to Mass and knelt at all the appropriate times pain free! Within a few days, I was kneeling through an entire Rosary pain free! 04.01.2022 John and Karen Canavan tragically lost their daughter Kathleen Canavan who was only 23 years of age, in a light aircraft accident last Saturday, 8th June 2019. At this sad time, John and Karen ask that you please pray for the repose of the soul of Kathleen Mary Grace Canavan and for John’s step-brother Danny Canavan who was with her and survived the accident. 04.01.2022 Dear Friends, I know the Canavan family will want to thank you all personally for all your generous contributions, and in time I'll help John to send his message of thanks to you. I also want to personally thank all of you for helping as it shows how much you all care and want to show your support of the family during this difficult time. The funeral was held on Monday, 17 June at St. Scholastica's Catholic Church, Bennettswood and the church was over-full. There must have ...been about 1000 people in attendance! Twenty-three priests were present, plus Bishop Elliott who did the Song of Farewell. Very moving eulogies were given, and John gave, what he said, was "the most difficult talk ever" which was emotional, meaningful and still comical in his own well-known way. 03.01.2022 HAPPIEST DAY OF SAINT JPII'S LIFE 'On April 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II canonized St. Faustina in what he was widely reported as saying was the happiest day of my life. Today my joy is truly great in presenting the life and witness of Sr Faustina Kowalska to the whole Church as a gift of God for our time. By divine Providence, the life of this humble daughter of Poland was completely linked with the history of the 20th century, the century we have just left behind. In fact, it was between the First and Second World Wars that Christ entrusted his message of mercy to her. Those who remember, who were witnesses and participants in the events of those years and the horrible sufferings they caused for millions of people, know well how necessary was the message of mercy, the Pope said in his homily that day.'
