20.01.2022 MEET ARIEL BONNELL ‘Ariel Bonnell is an emerging composer and vocalist, having recently graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Composition Honours). She has studied under composers Paul Stanhope, Liza Lim, and Ben Carey. She has previously written pieces for Gondwana Choirs, The Song Company, and Sydney Conservatorium’s Chamber Choir. As well as composing, Ariel is passionate about running and supporting ensembles to help new compose...rs and performers thrive. She co-founded the choir Ad Lib while a student at the Conservatorium to perform original pieces by fellow students. 20.01.2022 MEET META COHEN ‘Meta Cohen is a queer composer and dramaturg, with work spanning music, theatre and interdisciplinary art. Meta’s music has been commissioned by ensembles such as the Sydney Children’s Choir, Luminescence Chamber Singers and Mosaic Voices, and recently, Meta was the first non-male composer to have a piece performed by an Orthodox Jewish choir in the United Kingdom. As a theatre-maker, Meta specialises in sonic dramaturgy and musical thinking in theatre. M...eta is an associate artist at Alyson Campbell and Lachlan Philpott's queer performance collective wreckedAllprods, and a resident sound designer in the New Ghosts Theatre Company’s IGNITE Collective.
