20.01.2022 Did your Brigade score a vacume? If so let us know in the comments below... Brigades who submitted an EOI as part of the RFSA vacuum giveaway have been notified... if they were successful or not. We had a great response, with almost 800 Brigades applying. Unfortunately, we only have 380 vacuums available, so we haven’t been able to fill every request. This week we conducted a random draw of Brigades that submitted an EOI and have let all Brigades know whether they were successful or not. As COVID-19 continues to disrupt our normal activities, we will keep looking for new ways to support our members. We have already distributed over 2,000 Lego kits to members and their families, sponsored over 700 members to complete Mental Health First Aid training, and supported hundreds through our chaplaincy and welfare programs. If you don’t already, please follow us on Facebook for updates as we roll out new initiatives, and hopefully return to more normal activities (subject to COVID-19 restrictions easing). As always, if we can be of any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or call the office on 02 4723 3400. The RFSA Team

13.01.2022 An engaging couple of days! Yesterday, NSW RFS and FRNSW Area Commanders from across the state along with our Assistant Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners c...ame together at the Sutherland Fire Control Centre to catch-up, discuss preparations for the 2020/2021 bush fire season and opportunities for enhanced interagency operations and training. Today I spent time with my Area Commander colleagues from around the state before heading up to the Hornsby / Ku-ring-gai Fire Control Centre this evening to meet with the District’s Senior Leadership Team. It was great to meet the team and participate in the discussions around succession planning, innovation, hazard reduction and a range of other matters. Before heading home, I travelled over to the Northern Beaches Fire Control Centre to meet with Staff and Senior Volunteers who were undertaking a Strategic Planning Workshop. It was very positive to see that they will be steering the District in the right direction over the next few years to ensure that they have an engaged membership that will continue to deliver a first class service to their community into the future. #nswrfs #FRNSW #prepared #capable #engaged #InterAgency Hornsby/Ku-ring-gai Rural Fire Service Northern Beaches Rural Fire District

08.01.2022 Thanks to the NSW RFSA today Junior Members from our brigade and Lavington Rural Fire Brigade participated in Day 2 of a Mental Health, Leadership and a Resilie...nce program delivered by Priscilla Jaya The CPR Chick. Today the focus was on Resilience, Mental Health and Bullying. There was a lot to get through, but our kids once again shone! We are so proud of the way they take everything in their stride. We hope that through opportunities such as this we can help our Junior Members to achieve their potential and give them tools to navigate their way through this crazy journey called LIFE! We look forward to having future opportunities to support our Juniors. Thank you to everyone who helped!
