20.01.2022 Frank and Dixie (on the back) on Franks new Matchless motorbike, 1948. Dixie and Frank ended up travelling through the outback on their bikes and working on farms and stations as jackaroos and in various other jobs. Eventually they found Stradbroke Island.

18.01.2022 Dixie Philosophy This morning one of Dixies longtime friends flies in (see photo taken this morning) .... this kookaburra is happy to sit right next to us and look right into our souls. Its true, they know and trust Dixie so well they are completely at ease. "Our friends the birds...they know that you have no ill feeling towards them and they can detect any hint of aggression.... Concentrations of sunshine...like little odes to the sun...look what weve come and given you they say."
18.01.2022 Where Have All the Flowers Gone - ink on rice paper from 1984 ... Perhaps prophetic ?
18.01.2022 Tamara Always I see her, from behind, as if I cannot find her face, as if she is eternally hidden in the folds of mystery that is woman.
16.01.2022 Dorothy Another one from the archives...1993. Love the energy rising.

13.01.2022 Grandad/ Dixies father with a kookaburra 1947. Just to follow up on the kookaburra theme ...I love synchronicity - here we are with Dixie and his kookaburras calling in and then I find this photo of Grandad. Clearly the ability to talk to birds is genetic!
13.01.2022 Zen the flavour of the islands, so open and relaxed, she is totally focused on nothing...listen ...is that the sound of one hand clapping?
10.01.2022 Always something new...one of Dixies guided acrylics... Perhaps it is Rembering Spontaneous Compassion. #dixiepics #dixieartandphilosophy
09.01.2022 Trees, light, shadow, solace, playground, oxygen, healing....what would life be like without forests. #dixiewatercolour #dixiepics #dixieartandphilosophy
09.01.2022 My wonderful Grandad Dixie, on his 90th birthday: after being asked what he has learnt from 90 years living he said that we MUST "follow our dreams" because that is all there is... #lambertwisdom #oxometry
07.01.2022 Dixie off to NZ at age 20 (1948). Hes pictured here holding Regs hand (youngest brother). For those who dont know, Dixie joined the circus and sailed to NZ and spent 6 months in New Zealand. He quit the circus after the lady-boss accused him of not cleaning the elephant cage out properly, when he had done it but then the elephant straight away...well...you know what. So he said, in Dixie-style "you can stick your job" and walked off - homeless and jobless and virtually penniless.
06.01.2022 Dolphin play - Deadmans beach at Straddie. Watercolour. #dixiepics #dixieartandphilosophy
06.01.2022 Dixie Philosophy This morning the kookaburra came down and said hello. Also the big black crow has been paying me a visit lately. When I look out from my bedroom its always such a beautiful scene the sky and the gums...its always enriching.... My red cedar is naked right now but soon little red leaves will come out and she will have little red marks all over and then red to bronze and then slowly green. Its got to be one of the most enjoyable trees anyone can growit just has a character to itthe trunk where the ridges are forming is so full of strong personalitythere used to be a lot of them in the islandI dont know what happened .maybe they were logged but it is native to the island ...I think they should plant more. At the moment I am reading The Power of Now . (again perhaps for the 5th time!). Its talking about the pain body that people containrecognising that we can acknowledge our pain without having to live in it.
05.01.2022 Dixie and Pancho in 1947
05.01.2022 Dixies Crow looking in from the gum tree outside his bedroom. You realise how beautiful the crow actually isevery day its come down and done a performance for me ..."look at me with my shiny black feathers look at the way I dance!" People just dismiss crows as bloody crows but I dont think so they are graceful and beautiful.
04.01.2022 Dixie Philosophy "Someone said you cant be a philosopher until youre about 70 years old...well Ive made it!" Dixie sitting in the glorious winter sun, soaking up the good vibes from his friends - the gum, the jacaranda, the red cedar - tells me that there are 2 things he has learned in his life that make all the difference:... (this is verbatim) ONE: That there is no point in harbouring resentment...there is no place in your life for resentment...its self destructive and a complete waste of time ... the minute you kick out resentment, you let in love...thats the second thing There is so much room for resentment, especially in relationships but if you let it in then love goes...you need to get out every bit of resentment and love comes in...thats what Ive got to say about resentment. TWO: The strongest force in the universe is love. Nothing conquers love, love conquers all. It enriches your whole life, your whole being. Without love there is a void, an emptiness. Its light, yes. As opposed to the dark window of resentment. Its a shining light. We always have the choice of which road we want to take. I think everyone has a dark side...I dont know that I can say much else...Its like the sun on a perfect day. I love the sound of rain, love the sound of rain....or anything to do with water whether its a running stream, the wave of the sea the ripples whatever, whatever to do with water its just beautiful. As once said by some famous philosopher: water is life. Theres a kookaburra in the distance singing its heart out... (and what do they sing about?)...Happiness...its a wonderful world...like that song you know...they are saying isnt life magical, what a beautiful day, thank you for the sun and thank you for the rain...we love the earth and the more we love the earth, the better off well be.
04.01.2022 Sharky sharkason. For Rachel Love from Poppa.
03.01.2022 Scribblings and Life Dixie loves drawing - anything and everything. He has many journals and notebooks full of his drawings, his thoughts and his observations on life around him. He loves studying form and recreating the energy of what he sees with a few wild strokes of his pen. Some random selections from his 1996 journal will follow in an album....meantime the theme of horses to go with his new cover photo...
02.01.2022 An abstract series exploring aspects of the parallel dimensions we live alongside.
02.01.2022 The process. -Some photos from 2017-
01.01.2022 Erica ...like bathing in a warm river, easy and flowing, completely relaxed in who she is...conscious but not self-conscious.
01.01.2022 Love the gestures in this charcoal drawing of a prickly friend Dixie encountered a few years ago. .... The essence of Echidna.
