23.01.2022 Nobbys SLSC wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Dale Laverty & Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club . Dale dedicated his life to protecting t...he community thru his work in the Australian Life Guarding service & membership at Dixon Park SLSC. He was very well known but more importantly respected by many of our club members at Nobbys and will be sadly missed. We think this beautiful photo taken today by Matty John @_bebetterthanyesterday_ sums up all that Dale stood for. RIP Dale . #Mysurflife

02.01.2022 "DEVASTATED BY DALE'S DEATH" The City of Newcastle has expressed its deepest sympathies to the family of a lifeguard who died after being pulled from the water ...at Nobbys Beach this morning. Emergency services were called to the beach just before 8am. 57-year-old lifeguard Dale Laverty had experienced a medical episode in the water during a professional exercise and was brought to shore by his colleagues. He was treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to John Hunter hospital where he died. City of Newcastle CEO Jeremy Bath says Dale Laverty was a popular employee and was also employed by Lake Macquarie council. He said both councils are working with their teams who are understandably devastated by Dale's death. Police have commenced inquiries and will prepare a report for the coroner.
