25.01.2022 DJILJIT MIA SCUPLTURE A message from SCULPTOR: GREG BANFIELD Now that the dust has settled at Djiljit Mia I would like to thank and recognise those who helped complete the tree and people sculpture. Josh Whiteland provided an outline of the people and discussed the concept; Michael Baldock provided engineered drawings free of charge; and Dunwelds of Dunsborough fabricated the magnificent steel tree and provided free transport and installation of that structure. It is impossible to thank everyone that donated time, money and free-of-charge services, and continue to donate to the overall project, which is ongoing as the brook continues to be rejuvenated. For the sculpture it was quite defined and I would like to recognise these people.

23.01.2022 Thanks to the generous Clint at @Dunwelds for fabricating and donating our new collection box. Every little bit helps....please support us for maintenance funds

23.01.2022 Local kids learning local stories, and having some fun.

22.01.2022 Can you help? Is anyone able to help preserve our ropes by heat wrapping the ends?

21.01.2022 Speaks for itself I think!

19.01.2022 Year 3's from @Dunsborough Primary visiting Djiljit Mia. Learning about local Aboriginal culture, and having a fun play!

19.01.2022 We couldn't happier to see the joy, adventures, team work and creative play happening down there. And the kids are loving it too! Big ask I know- can you help look after the water play feature by discouraging the kids from pushing the button non- stop?! It's meant to be a push and slow release, but it's getting jammed and clogged with sand. Thanks to Matt and his boys from @WA Plumbing who have been doing constant repairs, but we can't keep calling them. Any ideas?... It might have to be removed if we can't sort it out. Thanks for your help to keep the park in tact. It sure is getting a hammering this holidays!

19.01.2022 It's back!! Thanks to whomever returned our rope. Happy days

19.01.2022 A fantastic event. Bringing us together to discuss health and wellbeing. And to have some fun! Well done Jon from the Blue Tree Project and thanks to Busselton & Dunsborough Community Bank Branches

18.01.2022 Very sad this morning to see this beautiful sculpture damaged.Must have been some strength as this is a steel rod underneath the jarrah. Please discourage kids from playing on the public art, signage and planted areas. Thanks!

17.01.2022 MISSING- One length of wharf rope. (about 5 metres) Was on the the cubby building mounds at Djiljit Mia. Please return, or if you have seen it somewhere, let me know. Thanks

16.01.2022 Oh... not again.... anyone know anything? That steel rod is extremely strong so definitely a deliberate act.

15.01.2022 The park is looking amazing, despite all the joyous wear and tear! Thanks to our 'Friends of Djiljit Mia' vollies who have been lovingly sweeping, checking plants, cleaning up. Thank you! So if you can spare an hour or two each week/fortnight/month please let me know or sign in on the roster below. Look how tidy it looks after Phil's efforts this morning. https://docs.google.com//13oLG2E6krdYTS-seDWBHC2Kftcl/edit

13.01.2022 IMAGINE a meeting place, a little pocket tucked away in the heart of Dunsborough, an exciting space inspired by nature for families to come and enjoy. It's call...ed Djiljit Mia Community Gathering Place! A totally community driven and community supported, grass roots project from beginning to end. It just wouldn't have been possible without community donations, volunteers and our community getting on board and loving the idea. This project is a true testament to the strength of our community and what we can achieve when we work together for a greater cause. It's this strength that will see us through these tough times we are facing. We can't wait for the day when this new meeting place comes alive with the sound of children playing, laughing, exploring and families gathering together in good health and spirits. Until then we ask that you SHARE this story far and wide so our community can celebrate such an amazing achievement. [ All made possible thanks to Trish Flower from Dunsborough & Districts Progress Association Inc, thanks to our valued customers over at Dunsborough Community Men's Shed & Till Spielhoff Filmmaker for telling the story so perfectly.]

11.01.2022 Thanks to our stalwart volunteers who have been lovingly tending to the park. We need more help though! Or put your name on our online roster if you are willing to spare an hour or morning/arvo every now and again. Maybe when your kids are having a play?! https://docs.google.com//13oLG2E6krdYTS-seDWBHC2Kftcl/edit

05.01.2022 Although Djiljit Mia was an entirely community initiated and run project, we were partnered by the City of Busselton - Local Government by way of - a Community Bids grant, leasing of the Crown Land, wonderful support from City Officers particularly Naomi Davey (Community Development Officer) and Adam Tweddle (Manager Foreshore/ CBD Supervisor), and allowing the community to take the reigns! This was a new and exciting concept. We couldn't be prouder of the outcome.
