23.01.2022 Even though we are in an active La Niña phase, Australia's weather has lately has been dominated by the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO). The MJO is a pulse of c...loud and rainfall that moves east across the equator; it's currently sitting in Phase 2 over the Indian Ocean (look for the end of the blue line), which generally means drier conditions for Australia. However, climate models are predicting that the blue line will move into Phases 5 and 6 (the Australian region) in the first or second week of December. This would mean an increase in tropical activity, including a chance to see the first tropical cyclone of the Australian season Find out more about the MJO http://ow.ly/9p6a50Crw7Y

16.01.2022 Grapevine petiole testing is now available. http://djsgrowers.blogspot.com/2013/10/petiole-testing.html

14.01.2022 We battle with downy every few years. 2016/17 was our last encounter. Are we winning? It’s variable. The site near Willunga with these pictures has 10-30 bunches per row lost. Some rows with none burned. Thankfully had protection on before last 2 rains. We think this damage to flowers was from rain events mostly from 30 days ago. Oilspots on leaves are dying out. @ Willunga, South Australia
