They came to grief last year, too. But, gutsy as ever, even after the opening shots to this folder, they came back from more... Well done, guys! . BEST VIEWED on a big screen... 02.01.2022 A few DKG highlights !

01.01.2022 Dear Surf Life saving members, Recently SLSA have informed manufacturers of a change in the compliance program. This directly affects our business that ultimately affects your clubs and you the individuals. There is nothing positive in the proposed changes. We are asking for your support to send a message to SLSA and stop the implementation of this program.... If you can copy and paste the below letter into an email and address the email to the below contacts and into social media platforms we can make a difference. Your support is appreciated and necessary. Email addresses to send to [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] ************* To Surf Life Saving Australia, RE: Lobbying Support for SLSA Suppliers I am sending this email to OPPOSE the SLSA Approved Supplier Program distributed to current suppliers of professional gear and equipment, dated 9th June 2016. The new compliance program's aim is to provide a modern and professional gear and equipment compliance system and process. The negative and direct results of this SLSA / SAI Global program include, but are not limited to; * Significant increase in price of SLSA equipment and gear to the end user surf clubs and competitors. * A reduction in competitor market size due to prohibitive costs of equipment. This is on the back of the National Review of Sport paper that acknowledged that the sport has many existing barriers effecting existing and potential members * Exorbitant fee structure of new program is prohibitive to small businesses resulting in an approximate 30% increase in price for manufacturers to retain current minimal profit margins * The more rigorous compliance program and process of evaluation and certification will take owner operators out of their business resulting in a further loss of income and negative cashflow * An increase of operating costs for small business that heavily reduce, if not eliminate, any profit resulting in small businesses downsizing or closing their doors * If/when the small businesses need to cut costs, people will lose their jobs a possible 100 people predominantly in regional areas * Existing stock will be less attractive to the consumer after realising a new standard is about to be applied to the market. We believe that the current market is too small to survive this disruption There has been no industry consultation with existing manufacturers / suppliers that we are aware of. It would seem that our industry has been grouped with larger more sustainable industries, with no business case being considered. This communication is my opposition to the new SLSA Supplier Program. Regards, DKG Surf Boats
