22.01.2022 There is a famous Gujarati saying "When the Goddess of Prosperity comes to your doorstep to apply vermilion on your forehead, you don't go to wash your face!" What I derive out of this saying is that when an opportunity knocks on your door, DO NOT HESITATE! Take it before that opportunity heads off to another door. Recently, an opportunity knocked on my door by a dear friend of mine, Kripa Khatri. The reason why I'm sharing this post is because I said YES to that opportunit...y!!!! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be interviewed by Kripa Khatri from Being You about my journey and my story of how I became a business owner of DKhat Spices. Very few know this story of mine and today I'm ready to share this to the world. I was shaking throughout that video interview and even as I write this post and am ready to click share I'm shaking again. Growth happens when we push ourselves to do the very things that make us uncomfortable! Take Care and Keep Smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum.

This happens to be the 4th time in 16 years I've gotten this chopper, upgrading to a newer set and every time I've felt excited, or maybe a little more excited every time Let me share with you why it is my favourite kitchen tool and how I use it ... 21.01.2022 One of my childhood favourite movies was Mary Poppins! I can't count the number of times I've watched this movie while I was growing up. A few months ago, I finally got my kids to watch Mary Poppins and they loved it and kept singing one of my favourite songs "A spoon full of sugar....". Ha ha, it is a catchy song :) As I watched my old time favourite movie again, these words that Mary Poppins said stood out to me. "In every job that must be done. There is an... element of fun. You find the fun and snap, the job's a game" - Mary Poppins. I realised I've always been doing this Today when I peeled this turmeric harvest from my garden, I found this tedious chore a game How Before I started peeling the turmeric, I switched on the TV and looked for a movie to watch on Netflix. At 9am , I enjoyed a 40 minutes movie session, guilt-free ;) How good is that! How do you change the tedious chores in your life into a game Please do comment below, I'd love to hear from you :) Thanks for reading I hope you are safe and well Take care and keep smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum.
20.01.2022 Last week we received this feedback from one of our newest customer
17.01.2022 Same thoughts and same actions create the same old resultsThey become a habit that eventually integrates into an auto-pilot behaviour. . . Things can get a little more interesting, fun, easier and even quicker by just a little change .... . Here's one little change I recently made when I was about to spread out 15 bundles of washed methi ni bhaji (fenugreek leaves) onto my dining table for drying. Yes! You read that right! 15 bundles . . Only 1 different thought - "How about I use the lettuce spinner to dry the bhaji (fenugreek leaves)?" . . This 1 different thought and 1 different action (bringing out the lettuce spinner) becomes my new time saving hack . . Spin Bhaji (Fenugreek leaves) Spin! . . No more spreading out the bhaji (fenugreek leaves) all over my dining table on tea towels waiting for an hour or so to dry! Yay! . . I saved some precious time and there's a few less tea towels to wash . . At the end of this video, you can see the excess water that was removed from the leaves simply by spinning it. Ha ha! Of course after I struggle a bit to open the lid to show it . . So what's that 1 little change you're going to make in your life . . P.S: I spinned the bhaji (fenugreek leaves) twice just to make sure I had removed any extra remaining water. . . Thanks for reading . . I hope you are safe and well . . Take care and keep smiling Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum. . . . #fenugreeleaves #hack #timesaver #habits #methibhaji See more
17.01.2022 Last week I got invited to a mini picnic in my living room . . I had made hot chocolate for Triya and was filling my mug with Chai when Triya called out to me "Mummy, come have your Chai with me?" .... . It's these little moments that will live on in our memories . . What's your favourite little moment . . I hope you are well. . . Take care and keep smiling . . Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum. . . P.S: We both had had our hair cut the day before so I took a selfie to save that memory . . #chaibuddy #littlemoments #masalachai #hotchocolate #mumslife See more
17.01.2022 I just finished having my mug of hot steaming Masala Chai and I'm feeling awake, fresh and positive . . A simple act of sipping chai, tea or coffee in the morning can bring us positivity While sipping my chai today, I was already planning what I could make for lunch today It's school holidays here in Queensland, so I want to make something my kids will enjoy. Frypan Chicken and Garlic Bread it is .... . I thought about sharing this quote that a family member had shared in one of the many WhatsApp groups I am in. I have been wanting to bake a red velvet cake from scratch, so I can do that today. Tea time treat for the kids sorted. Yay I'm already looking forward to a great day Thanks to a cup (or mug in my case) of positivity Have you had your cup of positivity this morning Thank you for reading I hope you are well and safe! Take Care and Keep Smiling Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum.

16.01.2022 Customer messages like this always me make happy about what I'm doing I received this message last Friday evening from a beautiful lady who ordered for the 1st time. Thank you so much for supporting my small business ... Sometimes trying something new or different for the 1st time can be difficult and taking that 1st Step is always the hardest 2 weeks ago I also took my 1st Step of becoming a client to my friend, Kripa. I hesitated about taking that 1st Step. My thoughts were: Should I text and ask her about her services? What if it's not right for me? How will I say no if I find it doesn't suit me? All these thoughts and doubts spinned around in my head . I could have listenedto them and taken no action! In the end, I decided there's no harm in asking! I took that 1st step and texted Kripa. Now I'm happily enrolled in one of her programs and am enjoying the positive shifts that are already happening in my life This only happened because I took that 1st Step! My new customer took her 1st Step by messaging me to askabout my products. These are all the benefits my new customer got after taking her 1st Step: She saved time by not going to the shops looking for spice ingredients. She saved time by not having to grind Garam Masala. She saved time by not having to grind Dal Masala. She did not sneeze from masala making! She saved time by not having to wash the pile of dishes that would have piled in her kitchen sink from making these masalas. She received a freebie Chai Masala sample pack She enjoyed the luxury of opening the door to receive a box containing Freshly Ground Masalas :) This is the power of taking the 1st Step! Are you hesitating about taking your 1st Step to trying something new or different If you keep hesitating, you might miss out on a great opportunity Go ahead and take that 1st Step Thank you for reading I hope you are safe and well Take Care and Keep Smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum.

16.01.2022 Our Chai Lovers are growing FRESH = QUALITY! Freshly grinding Masala after receiving an order ensures that the spice oils are still present in the Masala. ... This can be easily checked by doing a Smell Test. Simply smell the ground spice. If it has a strong aroma that means the spice oils are still present. I hope you are safe and well! Take Care and Keep Smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum. P.S: Here's how I make Chai :) https://www.dkhatspices.com.au/blogs/recipes/chai #chailover #masalachai

13.01.2022 Thank you for supporting our small family business I received this beautiful handmade card from one of my dear customers who happens to be a #chailover This handmade card reminded me that this is what I have been doing for the past 3 years... From freshly grinding Masalas after I receive orders to sticking the labels onto the packaging bags, writing thank you notes to my customers, sealing the boxes and printing out the shipping labels. It's all done by me What my customers receive is a handmade package of aromatic, freshly ground Masala made by me, Dhreeti Today, I just want to THANK YOU for supporting my business I hope you are safe and well Take Care and Keep Smiling Dhreeti Khatri ~ The Spicy Mum. 12.01.2022 Wow This customer made our day Thank you #chailover #chaibuddy #masalachai
12.01.2022 Thank you "Fresh is Best!" I believe this and that's exactly how I make all my Masalas!... Imagine the aroma as you open up a pack of freshly ground Chai Masala and add it into the Chai you're making. When you pour it into your cup, you can smell the spices. As you slowly sip the hot Masala Chai, the flavours of the freshly ground spices activates your taste buds and the spiciness of the Masala Chai consumes you. I FRESHLY GRIND all my Masalas after receiving an order. This ensures that the flavours, the aroma and the taste is INTENSE! As it's freshy ground, the amount of Masala you need to add into your Chai is less because the flavour of freshly ground Masala is intense! Do you want to experience the power of FRESHLY GROUND Chai Masala? Chai Masala: https://www.dkhatspices.com.au/collec//products/tea-masala

08.01.2022 What a beautiful start to the week I received this message from a beautiful lady today :) I am a Chai Lover and it brings me so much joy to spread the love of Chai . I can't find words to express how happy I felt when I received this beautiful message... My mornings always begin with a MUG of Chai (not a cup, as that's not enough to satisfy my morning Chai craving) After finishing 1 buttered Weet-Bix which I dip into my Chai (by the way, that's the best way to spice up a Weet-Bix ;) ), I take small sips of the remaining (still very hot) Chai, savoring the taste of the spices that are infused in the Chai . This is my morning treat Just me and my mug of Chai A great way to start my day is by treating myself :) As the saying goes, "You can't pour from an empty cup (in my case a mug )". So are you also a Chai Lover Thanks for reading I hope you are well and safe Take Care and Keep Smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum.

07.01.2022 In this difficult and unpredictable time, I will be using my business page to share some positivity and laughter Yesterday, I unscheduled all my business posts because I just couldn't get myself to market my business on social media with all that's going on and wanted to remain silent until things get normal. But then this morning I had a thought ! Why not use this business page to share something positive and light. Maybe it can brighten up someone's mood even... if it's just for a few seconds So I spent some time looking up for something cheerful and positive to share because "Laughter's the best medicine ". I hope you and your family are well and keeping safe This time will hopefullypass soon. Take care and keep safe! Dhreeti.

01.01.2022 We eat food to give our bodies the fuel it needs to function. That's a basic need! We also eat food to satisfy our cravings. Food also does something else. It takes us places... Has this happened to you You see a certain food and it takes you back in time to a place where you had experienced this mouth-watering, finger-licking food . Last weekend, I experienced this! I hadn't had Masala Crabs in a while and I made it for lunch last Sunday. The smell, and the taste of those Masala Crabs took me right back to Ovalau (one of the many small islands in Fiji - home sweet home for me). The last time I had Masala Crabs was in January, 2020 in Fiji. I am so glad I had made that trip back home as I don't see any travels happening anytime soon! So which foods takes you places I'd love to hear about it :) I hope you are well and safe! Take Care and Keep Smiling :) Dhreeti Khatri - The Spicy Mum. P.S: Here's the recipe of how I make Masala Crabs : https://www.dkhatspices.com.au/blogs/recipes/masala-crabs
