07.01.2022 Hello, I hope you are keeping safe during this uncertain turbulent times that 2020 has found us all in. Millinery at the moment is on the back burner, but I have managed to keep my creativity alive with producing face masks. I have created sustainable and reusable 100% cotton face masks with a pocket to insert a filter for added protection, together with a wire to mould and shape the mask across your nose. 100% cotton fabric was decided upon as it can be sterilised and reus...ed and no longer rely on one use surgical masks. The concept of the mask was designed by a Hong Kong Doctor during the virus raging in Hong Kong. The purpose was to manufacture a mask that uses cotton as the fabric and a middle replaceable filter element. They are available to purchase online in a selection of colours. At the moment I have only made adult sizes, but if you would like to have a larger or children's sizes please don't hesitate to drop me a line. I would really appreciate if you could share this post amongst your loved ones and friends. Stay safe, wash your hands and remember to social distance when you go out to grab the essentials. 05.01.2022 When designing our face masks, I wanted the filter pocket to allow the filter to cover the nose and mouth for optimum protection. Some of the patterns I looked at had a small opening on the side of the mask which when the filter was inserted would only cover the mouth. Thats why our mask has a full open filter pocket.

04.01.2022 Love that Zeka Manfred is ceasing mass production of their designs. Being a bespoke milliner means that our designs are never mass produced and only creating one off designs for our ready-to-wear range gives our clients the opportunity to be totally unique. We try to use sustainable materials in our production, therefore helping the environment. Dont forget that being handcrafted and hand stitched we can always remove and replace trims for a new look.

01.01.2022 Although fabric masks can be reused, after each use they should be washed and sterilised. This can be done by washing, then rinsing in a laundry sanitiser (or a weak bleach solution) and hot ironed. Ive seen some masks that say they are reversible. Please note that doesnt mean you can reverse them before washing. By doing this, any germs that have caught on the outer layer, will be placed directly over your nose and mouth. This is why I have made my masks with a decorative outer layer and the inner layer is white. #staysafe
