24.01.2022 At more than 200km from the closest electrical substation, Thargomindah will no longer rely on power from the grid with plans underway to make the town energy self-sufficient. Installation of solar panels across 24 sites in the area will mean they can produce their own power which will be fed back to the local community. Work is also underway for cost effective cooling of the towns water supply to save more than $100,000 a year in power bills. They're claiming they'll be the... #greenestshireinthewest. 18.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: Restrictions easing Further easing of restrictions will occur at 4pm today, 16 October. This means that: Up to 40 people at any one time will ...be able to dance at weddings with a COVID Safe Plan Dancing will now be permitted at Year 12 school formals Gatherings of 40 people will be permitted in homes and public places Outings from aged care facilities can resume. These changes are possible because of the great efforts of Queenslanders to unite against COVID-19. From 4pm, November 17: Up to 50 people can gather in homes and public spaces across Quee...nsland Person limits in indoor premises will increase from 1 person per 4 square metres to 1 person per 2 square metres Up to 200 people can attend weddings and funerals, and all guests can dance at weddings, both indoors and outdoors Seated, ticketed indoor events like theatre, live music, cinemas and sports can increase patron numbers from 50% to 100% Outdoor events can have up to 1,500 people attend with a COVID Safe Event Checklist Open air stadiums can increase seated capacity from 75% to 100% with a COVID Safe Plan Outdoor dancing will be allowed, including at events like outdoor music festivals or in beer gardens It is still important that Queenslanders remain vigilant. 12.01.2022 Rocky is all geared up for BMX enthusiasts to take on the brand-new Gracemere Pump Track at Cedric Archer Park. The opening of the more than 550 metres long track is a project of the Rockhampton Regional Council with funding from the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program. 10.01.2022 Show lovers young and old will once again enjoy the rides, foods, crafts, displays and competitions at their local show, with 130 show societies, associations and a local government receiving more than $2.1 million from the Queensland Government's Show Societies Grants Program, to help conduct their annual show. The 2020-21 Show Societies Grants Program allocations range from just over $6,000 for small show societies, and up to more than $151,000 for the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland to conduct the Ekka. 05.01.2022 Now it's getting warmer, Laidley residents can't wait to dip their toes into the Laidley Pool once the upgrades are complete.
