The contact register will record your: Name Contact number Location Date and arrival time at the venue. This information will not be used for any other purpose and will be kept securely for 28 days. A WA Government app, SafeWA, is available to provide patrons and businesses with a free, convenient digital option for contact registration. By downloading the SafeWA app, you will be able to scan a QR code to register your details at any venue you attend which is using the app. Some businesses may choose to use a different electronic or paper-based system and all businesses must register visitors who choose not to use the app. These measures will help to protect you and your fellow Western Australians. 22.01.2022 The dynamic team at Audioplay create immersive digital experiences that allow kids to step into a story and physically play as a character. Audioplay recently received an Arts U-15K grant to share what they’ve learned about this emerging digital artform with leading WA theatre artists Tim Watts and Arielle Gray. Watts and Gray are the creative team behind the internationally successful, family-friendly theatre production, ‘New Owner’. The creative exploration between Audiop...lay and Gray and Watts will push the creative limits of the form, build the skills of the artists and lay the groundwork for a new series of immersive experiences for kids. 21.01.2022 The State Government announced mandatory contact registers at relevant businesses and venues will be introduced from 5 December 2020. Businesses or venues requi...red to keep a contact register, will include: indoor sporting centres and pools funeral parlours galleries and museums theatres and other entertainment venues community facilities, libraries and halls function centres accommodation facilities that already have check-in arrangements in place (for example, large campgrounds). To assist businesses, the State Government has released a free, safe and secure app called SafeWA. Endorsed by the Department of Health, the app provides businesses and venues a unique QR code for patrons to scan to register their attendance. 14.01.2022 Dr Kelsey Ashe, curator and artist was awarded funding to nurture and support the creative development of new artworks for an upcoming exhibition, 'Imaginary Territories'. The group exhibition, to be held later in 2020 will showcase the work of critically engaged women chosen for their vanguard contributions in film, sound, installation, performance and print media influenced by Surrealism. Artists are asked to explore the concept of a ‘territory’ as a domain of the inner ...world; an ‘internal truth’ that reflects imaginings of the real world in an apocalyptic era. Visual artists include Toni Wilkinson, Rebecca Patterson, Lucille Martin and Jo Darbyshire with Spoken word Poetry by First Nation Playwright Barabara Hostalek, plus Live Neo-Classical overture by The Dark Swan Quartet. 11.01.2022 The National Gallery of Victoria is presenting a series of sound works by Philip Samartzis in an online exhibition 'The Kimberley'. These sound compositions by... Philip Samartzis were produced from raw material recorded during three residencies with us. He collaborated with the communities of Djarindjin, Lombadina and Ardyaloon (One Arm Point) on the Dampier Peninsula (2010), Warmun Art Centre (2011) and Waringarri Aboriginal Arts, Kununurra (2012), engaging in the deep listening practices of Indigenous people. This online exhibition features abridged versions of compositions created by Samartzis with the full version destined for a new online exhibition 'Topography of Dreams' being produced by Tura - stay tuned. Combining ambient electronic production with intricate song writing, the album examines escaping life’s repetitive stresses and concerns in simple, everyday moments. The survey is focused on attendance levels for arts and cultural activities, public support and attitudes toward the arts and the role culture and arts plays for West Australians and their communities. Certain works from this collection can still be viewed and purchased at the gallery. Elstermann is the youngest international artist to receive the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography.
