10.01.2022 Pony Club Victoria (PCV) advises club and event officials to operate as normal following a Victorian State Government update regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). Health authorities are continuing to closely monitor the situation following the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and will continue to update the community on whether public gatherings are considered advisable. Therefore, Pony Clubs should operate as normal until otherwise advised. Club and event organisers... should encourage good hygiene practices by participants at their events and where possible provide an environment that supports this outcome. Resources are available for download from the DHHS website, including printable posters and factsheets on practicing good hygiene that may help clubs and event organisers. Pony Club members are encouraged to act responsibly by not attending rallies, events or other Pony Club activities if: you are feel unwell, or are showing symptoms such as runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat or breathing difficulties, and/or you have been in close contact with someone who has coronavirus disease (COVID-19) If you have come into contact with someone who has the virus or you are concerned you may be infected, please call the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398. Health experts advise the best way to protect yourself from coronavirus is to pay attention to good hand hygiene and good respiratory hygiene, by: Washing hands often with soap and running water, for at least 20 seconds. Dry with paper towel or hand dryer. Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow. The coronavirus situation is constantly changing, information will be provided to members as PCV receive it, Clubs and event organisers are encouraged to also check the government website regularly for up to date information. For the latest information on coronavirus visit https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
