21.01.2022 DLS 1 - 0 Seeker In perfect spring conditions, the Mighty Pandas played quality footy to beat Seeker FC one goal to nil. From the outset, DLS placed Seeker under intense pressure with the majority of the play residing in Seekers defensive half. Despite taking a large amount of shots, DLS failed to genuinely test the keeper with many shots going astray. ... Overpowering Seeker in midfield and defence, DLS remained in control for the majority of the 1st half which remained goal-less. Into the second half, it was more of the same as the Pandas pushed for the opener. The Pandas finally hit their mark, when Kim Tak skinned Seeker's right-back down the left, putting in a wonderful cross for substitute Big Jack Wang to poke home for his third goal of the season. In typical amateur football style, half-hearted celebrations ensued. Looking to close the game out, DLS shut up shop and played on the break. In a duel for the ages, Seeker's suspect right-back accepted a challenge from DLS' Xiao Jin to put in a long throw in down the line. However, the flustered right-back showed his lack of arm strength and couldn't get any distance on his throw, with Xiao Jin thanking him for his efforts and heading the ball straight back. The Panda's had a few chances to increase their lead with numerous attempts of lobbing Seeker's keeper going high and wide. The game ended with the Pandas as the victors. In the penultimate round of the season, DLS will take on the Rangers of Holland Park! #GoGo DLS!!! #WEAREPANDAS #rightbacklife

14.01.2022 DLS 3 - 2 Holland Park Rangers The mighty Pandas made it two on the trot as they saw off the challenge from a Holland Park side fighting to stay in the Premier Division. Missing regular goalkeeper Cody Ky to husband duties, DLS were forced to field vice-captain Jonathon Tran between the sticks. In his debut as an outfield keeper, the pre-game nerves were understandable. However, JT was able put those fears away and put in a heroic display in goal for the Mighty Pandas.... DLS gained an early two nil lead thanks to goals from Tom Forster and Tim Ngor. The first was a Tom Forster special; pile-driving the ball into the net from 35 yards out. The second was the result of some great DLS interplay finished off by Tim Ngor who blasted another unstoppable shot into the top right-hand corner. The first scare for DLS came as Holland Park put through their striker 1 on 1 on goal. Showing an intrinsic instinct to protect his goal, JT rushed to the ball and made a world class save from point blank range. In the first litmus test of the afternoon, DLS' stand in keeper had passed with flying colours. The goalkeeping masterclass didn't end there, as JT channeled Manuel Neuer by playing as an auxiliary sweeper, cleaning up everything that came his way. However, even goalkeeping perfection couldn't stop Holland Park from scoring, as the Rangers were able to put away two goals in succession to level the game. After conceding two disappointing goals, DLS remained positive and showed their will to win by launching wave after wave of attacks. Eventually the winner would come via a blitzing counter-attack which saw Tim Ngor dink the ball over for Brandon Khenkitisak to finish underneath the on-rushing keeper. The Rangers had two more chances to level the game but were denied yet again by world class saves from Jonathon Tran. Shortly thereafter, the final whistle blew to end a humdinger of a game. DLS goes into their final game of their season in 4th place with just a point required to secure the coveted champions league spot. Next up its Redwings! #GoGoDLS!!!

12.01.2022 DLS 8 - 0 Springvale United The Mighty Pandas destroyed Springvale United in our biggest win of the season. Fielding a strong lineup, DLS went into the game fully focussed on redeeming the self-inflicted 2 - 1 loss to Springvale United earlier in the season.... Redemption didn't take long, as Joseph Lang smashed home an unstoppable half-volley from outside the box to open the scoring. Soon after, the Langsta doubled his tally with a smart finish when he was played through by Timmy Ngor. With the game in control, tensions began to escalate and handbags ensued, with plenty of chatter going back and forth between the two Sunday League teams. The majority of the chatter came from DLS' own "Big Jack Wang" who was convinced his life was in danger. Despite this, he put his fears aside and prodded home from another Timmy Ngor assist to extend the lead. After the break, the Pandas did not let up and proceeded to tear through the opposition at will, with goals coming from Xiao Jin and Brandon Khenkitisak. To round things off, DLS veteran Kim Tak showed that class was permanent by calmly finishing to make the final score 8 goals to zip. Next up, Its DLS v Bye in a showdown for the ages! #GoGo DLS!!!

10.01.2022 DLS 1 - 2 Kooyong United On a windy Sunday morning, the Pandas fell to a 2 - 1 loss to league leaders Kooyong United. Playing with the wind, the Pandas were able to start brightly and managed to disrupt Kooyong's normally composed and assured play. Cheered on from the sidelines by hopeful players from 2nd place Seeker FC, DLS began to put Kooyong under swathes of pressure. ... Eventually this pressure paid off, with star player Tim Ngor putting in a free kick which Kooyong's keeper managed to fumble the ball into his own net. The Seeker cheer squad made their approval known as the Pandas went into the break with a one goal lead. Playing against the wind after the break, it was DLS' turn to be put under pressure. Kooyong began to gain a foothold in the encounter and equalised through a header which left goalkeeper Cody Ky stranded. Kooyong then managed to complete the comeback with a goal via a free-kick scramble. The Pandas fought valiantly, throwing everyone forward for the last 15 minutes to find an equaliser. However this was to no avail as the wind Kooyong United proved too strong for the Pandas. Next week its another unmissable game as The Mighty Pandas take on Think Asia Seeker FC!!! #GoGo DLS!!!
