24.01.2022 Pretty happy with how this work has turned out but it’s definitely not without its flaws. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done any work in graphite so I definitely felt rusty and it took me a while to find a good rhythm (still working on that to be fair...) I find that graphite works tends to be a double edged sword in that it allows for unparalleled precision in your work, but it also leaves you with very little room to hide mistakes. Every stroke is intentional and pre...cise in the build up of the final piece. 10.01.2022 And that’s that for this series! I really enjoyed making these three, both in theme and in composition, taking around 60 hours to complete all three. Theme-wise, the idea of blending the realm of the imaginary with reality is something that runs deep throughout my work. This series in particular focused on the threshold where the two worlds meet. What would the portal to the imaginary realm look like if it physically existed?
