25.01.2022 Dungeon Master for Hire are expanding! Due to the crazy amounts of work I get for #DnD, Ive brought in another excellent and experienced dungeon master to help out. Robert is Scottish so all Dwarven accents will be perfect from now on! Happy to have him aboard!

25.01.2022 I've been playing in a game run by Alek, one of our fabulous dungeon masters. I've been playing as Argus the paladin. This beautiful battle against giant statues took place atop a coral reef in the middle of the ocean, and will hopefully lead to us understanding why a curse has befallen a nearby city.

24.01.2022 Lately I've been using Owlbear Rodeo to run online D&D games. It's got a simple interface for newer players, a virtual dice roller (with multiple free dice colours!) and even works on phones. I've put together small landing page to show players where everything is. It's a good little system to replicate the sitting around the table feel.

24.01.2022 Over the weekend I had a Curse of Strahd reunion session with an old group of mine and we each got some beautiful custom d20s by Calligraphy by Moya. Others were thematic to the PCs but as the DM I got one full of little d20s!

22.01.2022 A very special #dnd session last night - a marriage proposal between two players! Managed to work it into Descent Into Avernus - the ring was inside the infernal puzzle box that the to-be-proposed-to (a rogue) had been chasing for 3 sessions! Huge surprise - she said YES! Very honoured to have been a part of it, and great work on the other players making the beautiful puzzle box in secret!

21.01.2022 Some end of year D&D stats for our fantastic Melbourne D&D Adventurers League. Its been an amazing year!

21.01.2022 Last night I ran some D&D as part of Dungeons & Dragons at Fantastic Film Festival Australia on the Lido Cinemas rooftop. Had a whopping 9 players but it ran like a dream and everyone had a great time hunting a huge and deadly flying predator. My favourite moment was a bunch of characters lassoing it, climbing onto its back mid-air and then trying to kill it. Some of them fell off but they were victorious in the end!

20.01.2022 A big welcome to my dear friend Alek who is joining the team! Hes been behind the scenes since early on helping out, bringing his high energy and excitement to games. He does it all - organises conventions, writes homebrew and is a fellow admin at Melbourne D&D Adventurers League!

19.01.2022 Today is Critical Sail #dnd - on a boat! Ill be running a thematic adventure on a relaxing ferry journey for some of the other Melbourne D&D Adventurers League DMs. Major Tom isnt coming along though.

18.01.2022 A very close #dnd battle on Fantasy Grounds for Melbourne D&D Adventurers League! The party of 3 took down a red dragon wyrmling with a little help from Dell the dog! Luckily Josephine scored a crit on the dragon towards and the end, 6d6 for a level 3 character! Groz wound up with a riding moose at the end.... Have added some new cosmetic improvements to Fantasy Grounds combat, adding blood splatters during combat and such. Lots of fun!

16.01.2022 Its me! Games Laboratory is a fantastic space for those wanting to try out D&D, boardgames or even just to kick back. Ive been going there for many years, they even have a bar downstairs that you can game in!

11.01.2022 Ran a #dnd trivia night livestream last night for the Melbourne D&D Adventurers League community - it was a lot of fun and variety! The hit question of the night was simulating a battle between an adventuring party and 13 skeletons using Totally Accurate Battle Simulator!

10.01.2022 Yesterday was the premiere of the Arcanacon D&D adventures - The Phantom Pursuit and Seclusion! Alek and I have worked extremely hard these past few months to get our two adventures up and running for the convention and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with players loving the unique approach of the adventures. Today we (and other fantastic dungeon masters) will be running it a few more times today. Looking forward to it!

09.01.2022 First session of a solo Dragon of Icespire Peak campaign! Agonas the half-orc sorcerer, accompanied by sidekick Ruby Warhammer, are about to enter the town of Phandalin to look for some work. Solo adventures are a great way to immerse yourself into D&D. You get to be self-guided and challenge yourself in combat and roleplaying! All our campaigns come with all equipment supplied, a free character creation session, ambient soundscapes and music and usually with quality props such as this map!

09.01.2022 Some fun photos of the Arcanacon games that I was a dungeon master for. My adventure for Arcanacon was played on an Arkenforge Tabletop and after all the setup making maps it was very nice! The epic D&D scenario was also great - with players racing through the first of the nine layers of hell, having Mad Max-style vehicle battles (amongst other things)!

07.01.2022 Been quiet on the update front - but we are all busy running D&D games online for people from the comfort of their own homes! Last night a white dragon showed up in Phandalin to hunt a horse for food. The horse belonged to Tic Tac the rogue, and now hes sworn revenge! He is a Sydney Dungeon Master who gets into costume and also specialises in online games! 05.01.2022 5 years ago today (thanks Facebook memories) I started my first ever 5e #dnd game - and I was the DM! I spent a lot of time making spell cards for the players (who didnt know how to play at all), buying dice, researching and took a risk on a new hobby. Its been a fun ride!

04.01.2022 Its me! Was a bit weird running without a DM screen but I managed. For what its worth, I always stand during combat - helps keep the energy up and makes narrating combat more animated.

04.01.2022 Running Dungeon of the Mad Mage today and have been trying to come up with a good analogue solution for map drawing/revealing. Went the old sticky note route! Even stuck fake notes in some empty spaces for minimising metagaming involving secret rooms (Ill likely just photoshop the rooms out next time)
