13.01.2022 Here’s a great explanation from @milestonestexas. We get a lot of requests to have logos and artwork used on custom projects, and digitally printed vinyl decals. One of the first things we ask is if you have your file in a vector format. The easiest way to explain this is that vectors are infinitely scalable and stay smooth and crisp even when they are sized way up ( think business card to billboard size). Raster ( bitmap, JPEG) images are made up of tiny squares called pi...xels. These pixels include bits of colour and when combined, they build images. The more pixels in an image the higher the quality, and vice versa. When you zoom in on a image the pixels become more apparent while the details of the image become blurry. Vector images are what we want to have if at all possible to keep your logos and letter-based artwork looking their best. But if all you have is a JPEG, we’re still here to help. See more
