14.01.2022 Have you been missing our dance adventures? Covid has really thrown a spanner in the works this year! We have really missed our dance community adventures, our annual camping trip to Coffs Harbour for the Coffs Habour Eisteddfod. The camaraderie that we build whilst competing as a team across South-East Queensland. For our students and our dance mums and Dads, it was a great opportunity to take a break. 03.01.2022 Did you know that dance can help reduce the risk of Dementia! Not only will you gain a beautiful dancers body, enjoy being with an amazing group of ladies but the benefits of dance to your wellbeing and brain is incredible. A 2003 study in the New England Journal of Medicine....discovered that dance can decidedly improve brain health. The study investigated the effect leisure activities had on the risk of dementia in the elderly. ... The researchers looked at the effects of 11 different types of physical activity, including cycling, golf, swimming, and tennis, but found that only one of the activities studieddancelowered participants’ risk of dementia. According to the researchers, dancing involves both a mental effort and social interaction and that this type of stimulation helped reduce the risk of dementia.
