21.01.2022 Our new CNC lathe has been busy since arriving a few weeks ago. Learning to program and get the best finishes and tight tolerances has been a challenge and steep learning curve. Now NO MORE CHINA hardware from DNC. All now being produced in house. We can now do short runs of special orders quickly. Next up 1 1/16 and 1 1/8 scale 4 hole rolling stock wheels. Pictured below are some Fowler drivers in 4140 and standard bogie wheels in 1042. Call us with any requirements as our std wheel size stock levels can now be better maintained.

20.01.2022 Sorry customers bloody NBN off line again. So no phone no web site no emails. Outage in our street for more than a day now. NBN are investigating !!!!

19.01.2022 NEW PRODUCT :: Great base / starter for those without much of a workshop. Just needs a seat and battery compartment. Or can use as booster driving truck. Can be linked across easily to any existing dnc control system. Ie Jumbuck. Trams. Etc.

18.01.2022 C17 expansion link Centre piece with die in 36 minutes. Oh dear the set up time !!! 3.5 hours . Left .02 gap fir lubrication. .04 feeler can’t fit. Outside blocks up next. Many pictures showing from programming then animation check then tool set up (12 off ) then tool by tool machining stages.

18.01.2022 CNC Alley. Not many in the hobby are this committed to the future of Australian made products for miniature railways in the Southern Hemisphere. To maintain tooling and quality we even filter the coolants and use an oil skimmer. The whole lot in a temperature controlled room.

13.01.2022 Queensland C17 dome in Bronze. 8.5 hours CNC time now fir the brasso Made a couple more in iron whilst set up !!

12.01.2022 New design very heavy duty bogies fir 7.25 gauge long wheelbase with 8 wheels then shorter wheelbase with 5 wheels. Both with 0.9kw output on 24 volts. Design has extra long travel for axle boxes to ride the roughest tracks in the country. 50kg and 90kg each respectively. Fitted with mechanical brake for parking or attach air cylinder fir air braking / customer choice. Design easily adjustable fir any wheelbase and wheel diameter combo.

12.01.2022 Update on NBN after a week off line it’s now not a Telstra problem but NBN need to replace street cabling. So we continue to be off the phone , emails , messenger service all shut down till we do not know when !!! No date set up as yet and it’s the weekend ahead. Sorry fir the inconvenience that you can not contact us by any means. . That a great service from Telstra /NBN for a small business customer

06.01.2022 Sand domes to go with the steam domes we did last week. Some sections CNC lathe the rest on the 4axis Machining centre. Solid cast iron round to start with 130 dia x 150 long. Overnight cutting so sweet n easy.

06.01.2022 New bogie wheels fir 24 gauge railway. Nice job fir the quiet weekend !!! 70mm thick 4140 material. New CNC Lathe simply loved it. 1 1/16 scale 4 hole disc wheels up next.

05.01.2022 Rolling stock wheels with front and rear shaped as per full size and some left as plain disc and some with the 4 holes. Made them in 1 1/16 , 1 1/8 and 1 1/2 scales. Holes bored to JS7 tolerance. PM us if interested as we have plenty more 100% Aussie made here in our own workshop. No more China for us !!!

02.01.2022 Siemans 808D help please. I am trying to program tapping in my CNC lathe. I know the manual states cycle84 or cycle840. The problem is all the following parameters are just too hard to figure out from the manual. . If someone can give me an example I would appreciate it immensly. Example in manual does not work !!!!

01.01.2022 Mmm wonder what’s in the box for DNC. So no more China components just pure 100% Aussie made in house from now on. Thanks to the ATO and it’s new rules. It’s nearly 2 tons so no toy !!! More updates to watch fir as we take delivery and get it installed.
