25.01.2022 Re-fitting glass safety barriers today (that have come loose). Got the apprentice on the job re-drilling the holes in the concrete. This kid's gonna make an A1 tradie.

24.01.2022 And another happy customer.

24.01.2022 Just a few of the weird and wonderful jobs I've done over the past month or so. I love the variety of work I'm getting now.

23.01.2022 This old meter box dates back to the late 60's. I think that might be the last time it saw any maintenance too. Time for a re-do.

23.01.2022 Dave of all trades was here.

19.01.2022 It's been an interesting few months (that goes without saying). I hope everybody has fared okay. Dave Of All Trades is still operating for those odd jobs around the house. Give me a call about that job you need done - 0412272502.... From opening windows that haven't opened in years, restoring / cleaning vintage light fittings, guttering repairs or garden makeovers and rubbish removals - there's not much I can't do. Here's a small sample of the weird and wonderful jobs of the past few months. Stay safe, Dave

19.01.2022 Severe leaf curl (fungus) on this peach tree means this year's fruit crop may not be salvageable. Due to the stress the tree is under the fruit may not mature properly. This disease needs to be tackled with a copper based spray, at the end of winter, before it fully takes hold. Anyway, we'll give the tree some love and see what happens.

18.01.2022 What a difference some weeding, pruning and a fresh layer of mulch makes.

17.01.2022 Repairing loose and bent parking bollards and sign posts in a shopping centre carpark today. It's a worry when the most dangerous part of your job is negotiating the cars in the carpark .

15.01.2022 The Christmas holidays are closing in fast. Are you planning on taking the trailer or caravan away on holidays? When was the last time you checked / greased the wheel bearings, checked the brakes etc? Don't leave it to the last minute. Get it done now.... Ph: 0412272502

14.01.2022 Good to be back into it. Must be quite a few overgrown yards out there now!! Give me a call on 0412272502 if you need home or property maintenance (taming of jungles is one of my specialties )

13.01.2022 Plastic bumper repair & polish. Came up pretty good for a 20 year old car.

13.01.2022 Workshop on wheels.

13.01.2022 Fixing uneven brick paving today. Tree roots and pavers don't mix.

12.01.2022 This one is a bit of a 'work in progress'. I've been helping a home owner finish off those 'get around to it' landscape jobs. This path took a fair bit of geometry to get it to sit level and for each stone to graduate towards the house (the path is purposely not square to the garden edge so it ends up at the gas meter on the side of the house) but it's coming up pretty good. I'll post up the finished pic when it's all done. (Lesson learned - pay attention to the geometry teacher at school kids )

12.01.2022 Problem solving today. What to so about brick pavers being lifted by nearby trees. This patio area has become a major trip hazard for the residents of adjacent units. Stay tuned, we'll find the answer.

12.01.2022 Need something done between Xmas and New Year? Give me a call - 0412272502.

10.01.2022 Things I like about my job. There are lots of things I like about my job. Sophia is one of them. Always greets me with a smile and a cuddle. Best thing is, I can give her back. ... #customersdogs

10.01.2022 Cleaning mud and leaves out of some (very) blocked drains. Good to be doing something out in the sunshine again.

09.01.2022 Carpark wall repair today. Came up pretty good. Wonder how long before someone backs into it again?

09.01.2022 Not sure what the architect was thinking when they put a garden bed in the middle of the driveway?? But hey, it was the 60's, they did some weird things. Anyway, all fixed now. #stupidspotforagarden #concreting... #DaveOfAllTrades See more

04.01.2022 I'm pruning fruit trees today and I thought I'd share a little tip with you. DO NOT tie fruit trees (or any tree) tightly to a stake or post - EVER!! This is detrimental to the tree in two ways. 1. It cuts off the circulation of sap as the tree grows and ultimately causes injury to the tree. It's like wrapping a piece of wire around a child's leg and leaving it there as they grow. It won't do any harm straight away. But over time....... 2. If the tree cant move in the wind it won't develop a strong root system. The stake acts like a crutch and the tree's roots get 'lazy'. This is one of the main reasons large urban trees fall over in storms. If you must stake a young tree always place the stake at least more than 300mm from the trunk and tie it loose with thick, soft material like jute (hessian) or cloth.

03.01.2022 Courtyard makeover. Pavers cut / removed and dead space converted into a garden. Pretty happy with how this one came up.

02.01.2022 Lifting and re-laying sunken pavers in a carpark today. Loving this beautiful Melbourne sunshine. (Yes, that last bit was sarcasm ). Have a great day everyone.

02.01.2022 Tree stump removal in the corner of a deck today. This will be interesting.

01.01.2022 Hedge pruning today. This bad boy is long overdue for a haircut. (I can relate ).
