22.01.2022 I am selling this Maton Studio Recording Amp for a friend. I restored it a while ago replacing all filter caps, NOS output valves, new reverb tank etc. I also fitted another replacement Etone speaker. It sounds great and has no issues. I am not sure of the year but I believe it would be mid to late sixties. The serial number is 3131. We are asking $1400 for the amp so if anyone would like a piece of Australian rock and roll history let me know!

22.01.2022 Leigh Ratcliffe has this Fender Squire Strat for sale. Give him a yell if you are interested.

21.01.2022 Still checking out London! I had to go to Denmark Street again, I couldn't take it all in with only one visit. I picked up a Catalinbread Belle Epoch & then a Katzenkonig next visit from a great shop called NO.TOM I have no more room in the suitcase Lol

20.01.2022 It's a sad day today for the Dobson family. We had to say goodbye to Kingsley our loyal companion for nearly 13 years. I think many of our customers knew Kingsley as well as myself. Customers would always be asking "where's Kingsley?" He has been unwell and doesn't have to suffer any more. Thanks to Geoff Robson for taking the photos.

13.01.2022 I couldn't resist taking a photo of these items together, a customers 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst, my 1975 Les Paul Custom,1974 Marshall Quad Box and a 2005 Orange AD140 Amp. What a rocking sound they make together!!

12.01.2022 Carol said can I clean up the rumpus room. ( not yet sorry!! )

11.01.2022 Here is something a bit different for the Telecaster lovers out there. I put this guitar together to test out the new Joe Barden Tron's pickups that I am a dealer for, the candy orange body is from Allparts, the neck is a 2008 USA Fender neck that I have refretted with jumbo frets and fitted a new nut. The bridge is TV Jones and I fitted a Bigsby tremolo. It sounds fantastic, certainly captures some of those Gretsch type of sounds. I am asking $1850 firm for the guitar.

11.01.2022 Hey guys I have another guitar for sale an Ibanez SZ520QM w Seymour Duncan Seth Lover Bridge Pick Up. Thanks to Leigh Ratcliffe Ratfunk Productions for putting together this little demo. If your are interested in the guitar drop me a message cheers.

10.01.2022 Hi, just letting everyone know that we have officially moved to 30 Laura Street West Launceston. At the moment my mobile 0407 868 063 is the best way to contact me. I apologise for the inconvenience this been to my valued customers. I still have a bit of work to do setting up the workshop but at least I am up and running. As a side note we are having a garage sale at 112 Viewbank Road on Saturday 8 am to 3pm. I have heaps of guitar magazines that have to go plus normal household items. Feel free to drop in.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone I'm happy to announce the brand new website ! Please feel free to share it around ! http://dobsonguitars.com/

09.01.2022 Here is a lovely old 1951 Maton Goldtone DE Model Luxe G210 . I had to reset the neck and dress the frets etc. It plays beautifully now, the chap who owns said he bought it used in 1953. Sadly he has no use for the guitar now and no musicians in the family to pass it down to so would like to sell it. Feel free to give me a call on 0407 868 063 if anyone is interested.

06.01.2022 It was lovely to see this 1961 Gretsch 6120 come back to my workshop for a fret dress and service. What an awesome guitar it is and a credit to my customer for looking after it. It was quite some time ago that I last serviced it so it is holding up well.

04.01.2022 While in London we went through the Hard Rock Cafe. The Stratocaster belonged to Duane Allman, the Fender Esquire was Jeff Beck's, I would have loved to have picked that up and had a play but of course you can't touch them.

04.01.2022 Carol, my cousin Jocelyn and I went to Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club last night to see the Steve Gadd band featuring Michael Landau on guitar. What an awesome show it was and we all loved it. Steve came out to sign CD's etc after the show. To see brilliant musicians in an historic venue like Ronnie Scott's is something I will never forget.

04.01.2022 Here is a Lovely 1951 Maton Deluxe Model G210 that I recently reset the neck and dressed frets etc. The guy who owns it bought it in 1953 when it was two years old. It is in great condition considering its age. Sadly the chap has no use for it now and no musicians in the family to pass it on to so would like to sell it. If anyone is interested they can contact me on 0407 868 063.

03.01.2022 Here is a custom guitar a nice gentleman commissioned me to build before Xmas for his son's 21st birthday. He had the blackheart sassafras and even though it wasn't as wide as a normal guitar body he said could I come up with something a bit different. His parting words as he left were "don't be boring" lol. I think his son got a big surprise when he opened the case but was very happy with it. Building guitars is not something I do very frequently nowadays but I did enjoy making this one and the customer was a pleasure to deal with.

02.01.2022 I finally repaired this old Vox Tone Bender pedal today after having it laying around my rumpus room for quite some time. The Catalinbread Katzenkonig pedal I picked up in London while on holiday. They both sound great!

02.01.2022 I couldn't resist sitting my old 69 Marshall Super Bass on top of this late model Mesa Boogie cabinet. What an awesome sounding bass cab!

01.01.2022 Oh well we couldn't stop in London without going on a rock & roll tour. Carol is just keeping up to my son & I on the Abbey Road crossing. Bill Wyman's Sticky Fingers restaurant also was great.
